Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Business economics - Investment and Finance, grade: 1,3, The FOM University of Applied Sciences, Hamburg, language: English, abstract: The aim of this paper is to make a comparison between classic credit financing and leasing. Here, the question is considered whether leasing can represent an attractive alternative to classic credit financing. Credit financing and leasing are then compared, taking into account tax, accounting and business management aspects. The previous findings are then illustrated using a case study in relation to the decision between credit financing or leasing a Mercedes-AMG A45. Finally, in a conclusion, a position is taken on the initially mentioned question.

Leasing as an alternative to credit-financed purchase?

Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Business economics - Investment and Finance, grade: 1.7, University of Hamburg, language: English, abstract: The work investigates the Equity Premium Puzzle as described by Siegel and Thaler in 1997. Investigations in the thesis are centered around the question of how behavioral economics can explain the anomalies of stock markets and the equity premium. As the research question implies, this work will examine solutions of the puzzle suggested from both the field of rational economics and behavioral economics. Due to a large number of various approaches to explain the puzzle over the past 30 years, this work will concentrate on a selected number of suggestions from various economists. I will examine assumptions and conditions of the solutions suggested, and analyze key theories applied in the resolutions. The quantitative foundation of models analyzed in this work will not be examined, as this would require detailed statistical and mathematical considerations. The work is structured as follows. I will to begin with outline the initial puzzle stated by Mehra and Prescott in 1985 and analyze key assumptions of their equilibrium model. Different resolutions of the puzzle suggested by rational and behavioral economics will then be examined, followed by an investigation of the empirical evidence behind the proposed solutions. A discussion will follow, and the author will reflect on the robustness and relevance of the puzzle. A conclusion will sum up the key elements of the work.

&lt;p&gt;This book takes a historical approach to explore data, algorithms, their use in practice through applications of AI in various settings, and all of the surrounding ethical and DEI implications. Summarizing our current knowledge and highlighting gaps, it offers original examples from empirical research in various settings, such as healthcare, social media, and the GIG economy.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The author investigates how systems relying on a binary structure (machines) work in systems that are instead analogic (societies). Further, he examines how underrepresented populations, who have been historically penalized by technologies, can play an active role in the design of automated systems, with a specific focus on the US legal and social system.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One issue is that main tasks of machines concern classification, which, while efficient for speeding up decision-making processes, are inherently biased. Ultimately, this work advocates for ethical design and responsible implementation and deployment of technology in organizations and society through through government-sponsored social justice, in contrast with free market policies.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;This interdisciplinary text contributes to the timely and relevant debate on algorithmic fairness, biases, and potential discriminations. It will appeal to researchers in business ethics and information systems while building on theories from anthropology, psychology, sociology, management, marketing, and economics.&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Hauptakteure für den Privat-Label-Unternehmenserfolg sind der Einkauf, verantwortlich für die Beschaffung und die Lieferantenauswahl einerseits, und andererseits das Produktmanagement, verantwortlich für das Unternehmensportfolio. Privat-Label-Lieferanten können in diesem Zusammenhang durch ihre Flexibilität und Spezialisierung den Erfolg des eigenen industriellen Unternehmens steigern. Hierfür nötig ist die methodische Abstimmung zwischen Einkauf und Produktmanagement über den ganzen Produktlebenszyklus hinweg. Gekennzeichnet ist das Private Labeling durch eine langfristige Partnerschaft mit Ausrichtung auf den Kundennutzen, um das eigene anzubietende Produktportfolio optimal zu ergänzen.Private label products are becoming more and more important in the industry. The main actors for the own company success are the purchasing department, responsible for procurement and supplier selection on the one hand and the product management, responsible for the company portfolio on the other hand. In this context, private label suppliers can increase the success of their own industrial enterprise through their flexibility and specialization. This requires methodical coordination between purchasing and product management throughout the entire product life cycle. Private labeling is characterized by a long-term partnership with a focus on customer benefit and to optimally complement the own product portfolio to be offered.

Erfolgssteigerung durch Verknüpfung von Private Label Einkauf und Produktmanagement in der Industrie

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich BWL - Investition und Finanzierung, Note: 2,7, FOM Essen, Hochschule für Oekonomie  &amp; Management gemeinnützige GmbH, Hochschulleitung Essen früher Fachhochschule, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, ein allgemein veranschaulichtes Bild des Leasings darstellen zu können. Fragestellung, wann und mit welchem Zweck Leasing verwendet werden kann, sollen beantwortet werden, ebenso auch für welche Anwendungsgebiete es in Frage kommt. Welche Voraussetzungen notwendig sind und welche Leasingmodelle zu einem möglichen Geschäft passen, soll veranschaulicht werden. Im weiteren Verlauf der Hausarbeit wird auch auf die Unterschiede des Privat- und Geschäftsleasings eingegangen. Voll- und Teilamortisation, sowie einzelne Sonderformen, wie sale-and-lease-back und die Abgrenzung des operativen zum Finanzierungsleasing werden beschrieben. Nach der Darstellung eines repräsentativen Leasinggeschäftes, hier am Beispiel des Verkaufes von Anteilen an der Westfalenstadion KG, dem Eigentümer des Signal-Iduna-Parks, durch die Borussia Dortmund GmbH &amp; Co. KGaA, folgt die kritische Zusammenfassung der bis dorthin erlangten Erkenntnisse, sowie daraus resultierende Handlungsempfehlungen für potentielle Leasingnehmer und andere Interessierte. Abschließend gilt es zu prüfen, ob die vorangegangene Problemstellung und damit einhergehende Fragestellung in dieser Hausarbeit in angemessenem und verständlichem Umfang erläutert werden konnte. Ebenso sollen mögliche Perspektiven in der Anwendung des Leasings genannt werden.

Leasing. Eine kritische Betrachtung und daraus resultierende Handlungsempfehlungen

Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich BWL - Customer-Relationship-Management, CRM, Note: 2,3, Evangelische Hochschule Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bachelorarbeit zum Thema Kundenbewertung und Customer Lifetime Value im Rahmen des Customer Relationship Management – ein mögliches Instrument zur Anwendbarkeit und Umsetzung im Krankenhaus. Um Kundenbeziehungen zu fördern, setzen Unternehmen Kundenbindungssysteme ein. Jedoch stellt sich die Frage der monetären Investition. Diese richtet sich nach den Mitteln, die zur Verfügung stehen und den Mehrertrag, den es zu erzielen gilt. Unternehmen müssen wissen, wie hoch der Wert eines Kunden ist, denn vorrangig muss beachtet werden, dass die Aufrechterhaltung der Beziehung eines Kunden mit hohem Wert über der eines Kunden mit niederem Wert steht, und solche Kundenbeziehungen dann gegebenenfalls beendet werden müssen. In dieser Bachelorarbeit liegt der Fokus besonders auf den Kunden im Gesundheitswesen, näher dem Krankenhaus. Denn gerade in diesem Bereich, ist es von enormer Bedeutung auf die Anliegen und Bedürfnisse der Kunden einzugehen, da diese durch physische und psychische Probleme auf eine solche Einrichtung an-gewiesen sind. Das Customer Relationship Management (CRM), auch Kundenbeziehungsmanagement genannt, sieht die Kunden / Patienten im Krankenhaus als fundamental für ein funktionierendes Unternehmen an. Keine Klinik kann auf dem Markt bestehen, wenn die Mitarbeiter und Ärzte nicht auf den Patienten eingehen und ihn nicht verstehen. Kaum ein Patient, wird in ein Krankenhaus zurückkehren, wenn er dort schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht hat. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird ein Einblick in das CRM gewährt, um Verknüpfungen zum Customer Lifetime Value herzustellen. Im Verlauf der Arbeit wird einerseits dargestellt, wer die Kunden im Krankenhaus sind und andererseits der Unterschied zu Kunden außerhalb der Klinik aufgezeigt, denn die Kundenbeziehung im Krankenhaus unterscheidet sich enorm zu der in einem Friseursalon oder einem anderen Dienstleistungsbereich außerhalb des Gesundheitswesens. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, aufzuzeigen, was der Customer Lifetime Value ist, wie er sich berechnen lässt, wie man Kunden an sich bindet und ob ein positiver Customer Lifetime Value durch kommunikationspolitische Maßnahmen zu realisieren ist. Die zentrale Fragestellung lautet hier, wie und ob sich das Customer Value Verfahren auch auf den Gesundheitsbereich übertragen lässt.

Ein mögliches Instrument zur Anwendbarkeit und Umsetzung im Krankenhaus

Kundenbewertung und Customer Lifetime Value im Rahmen des Customer Relationship Management

Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich VWL - Finanzwissenschaft, Note: 2,0, Universität Siegen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit steht die Frage, inwiefern sich Finanzierungen durch Private Equity Gesellschaften auf das Geschäftsmodell sowie die Stakeholder eines FinTech-Startups auswirken. Im Umfang dessen werden Wachstumschancen für das Startup-Unternehmen sowie die mit Private Equity Gesellschaften assoziierten Risikogesichtspunkte evaluiert. Basierend auf den erarbeiteten Erkenntnissen werden anschließend Handlungsimplikationen aus Sicht des Startups abgeleitet.Der Inhalt dieser Arbeit ist in insgesamt drei gleichgewichtete Hauptkapitel gegliedert. Kapitel 2 ist der Thematik der Risk-Governance-Perspektive gewidmet, welche ausschlaggebend für die Sichtweise dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit ist. Dabei wird diese in Einzelteilen betrachtet und literarisch fundiert wiedergegeben. Basierend auf der literarischen Grundlage des zweiten Kapitels, werden in Kapitel 3 relevante Stakeholder, sowie die Elemente des Geschäftsmodells untersucht. Im Fokus des vierten Kapitels stehen die Auswirkungen der Eigenkapitalfinanzierung durch Private Equity Gesellschaften auf Startup-Unternehmen aus Risk-Governance-Perspektive. Ein kurzer Ausblick auf die im Umfang dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit generierten Kernerkenntnisse und die einhergehende Beantwortung der Forschungsfrage beschließt die Arbeit. Zudem wird abschließend eine Auskunft über aufgetretene Limitationen und mögliche zukünftige Forschungsfelder gegeben.

Analyse aus Risk Governance Perspektive

Finanzierung von FinTechs durch Private Equity Gesellschaften

Master's Thesis from the year 2023 in the subject Business economics - Investment and Finance, grade: 1,0, International School Of Management, Campus Frankfurt, language: English, abstract: The aim of the master thesis is to examine whether private equity is suitable for tokenization. After analyzing different characteristics of private equity, such as the illiquidity or mechanisms like capital calls, the master thesis concluded that the asset class is suitable. Private equity shares in the form of security tokens can help to reduce illiquidity and cashflows like the capital calls can be automated by the use of smart contracts. For the tokenization, the master thesis recommends to use existing standards, such as the Ethereum blockchain or the ERC-1400 token. Furthermore, different structures for issuing private equity tokens were elaborated. These include a structure for an indirect participation via a special purpose vehicle which issues tokens and simultaneously invests into a fund, but also a direct participation where the fund itself can issue tokens. During the description of possible structures, all relevant laws were included. These include the German Electronic Securities Act (eWpG), German Banking Act (KWG), Security Prospectus Act (WpPG), Capital Investment Act (VermAnlG), Securities Trading Act (WpHG) and the German Investment Code (KAGB). All structures were evaluated from the perspective of private equity funds, institutional investors, private investors or other relevant intermediaries. Also, benefits and challenges for the different structures and participants were discussed. The benefits include an increase in efficiency of several processes, potential cost savings, the possibility for funds to reach more investors or the possibility for investors to diversify their portfolio more. Still, these benefits could only be made use of, if major challenges are mastered by the market participants. These include an insufficient legal framework, different hurdles when implementing a secondary market, or the problem that theoretical approaches might work differently in reality.

Tokenization of Private Equity Funds in Germany. Direct and Indirect Participation and Feasibility

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich Jura - Europarecht, Völkerrecht, Internationales Privatrecht, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit wird das „private enforcement“ des EU-Beihilfenrechts umfassend erläutert und es werden verschiedene Probleme beleuchtet, die das „private enforcement“ in seiner praktischen Etablierung zu hemmen scheinen. Um fairen Wettbewerb zwischen den einzelnen Unternehmen in der Europäischen Union zu gewährleisten, gibt es das EU-Beihilfenrecht, welches einen Teilbereich des europäischen Wettbewerbsrechts darstellt. Das Beihilfenrecht regelt in seiner speziellen Ausprägung das Verhalten des Staates am Markt, nicht hingegen das der Marktteilnehmer. Es soll verhindern, dass einzelne Unternehmen gegenüber anderen Wettbewerbern bessergestellt werden, indem der Staat diese mit Haushaltsmitteln unterstützt. Gäbe es keine unionsrechtliche Kontrolle bei der Vergabe staatlicher Beihilfen, bestünde das Risiko, dass der unverfälschte Wettbewerb zwischen den Unternehmen in einen Wettbewerb der Staatshaushalte ausarten könnte.

"Private enforcement" im EU-Beihilfenrecht. Wesentliche Aspekte und Problemfelder

&lt;p&gt;This book addresses the most pressing and current work-life issues that are impacting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in organisations across the Asia-Pacific. It is organised around three major themes: (1) Work-life equality and justice; (2) Technology, work, and family; and (3) Work-life values and trends in Asia, all of which will be discussed in relation to EDI.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Issues concerning the work-life interface are closely intertwined with issues relating to EDI—for example, labour market inequalities are often fuelled by the interplay of gender, race, and family circumstances. Implications for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Work-Life Research in the Asia-Pacific

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2021 in the subject Business economics - Review of Business Studies, grade: 1,0, Technical University of Munich, language: English, abstract: This thesis delivers a comprehensive study on the empirical performance of the market returns on the UK equity market. It particularly focuses on the aggregate market indices to gain a complete look at the UK market. Different economic variables, such as fundamental stock characteristics, business cycle variables, the sentiment variable, and macroeconomic indicators, are investigated to determine their impact on the equity market return.The initial data set analysed covers the period from January 1990 to September 2020. During this sample period, several significant economic and political events occurred. One notable event is the severe economic downturn in the UK induced by the 2008 global financial crisis, from which it took years for the economy to recover. However, the British exit from the European Union (Brexit), triggered by a nationwide referendum in 2016, brought economic uncertainties back.Since early 2020, countries worldwide have suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the global economy has faced a serious challenge. The lockdown and other restrictions made to tackle the pandemic have caused a significant slump in economic output, especially in the UK, as its economy depends mainly on services industries.Accordingly, all these events have had a significant negative impact on the UK equity markets. In order to make more robust inferences about the predictive ability of various economic variables, two forecast periods are considered instead of one. One forecast period covers the period from January 2001 to September 2020, and the other covers the more recent ten years from January 2011 to September 2020.
