'About the End of the Avoidance Principle. Prospects of Multiple Nationality': This study is dedicated to a legal systematisation of the enforcement mechanisms of the avoidance principle of multiple citizenship that applied until the most recent reform of German nationality law. In this context, the legal policy parameters and roots of this principle are analysed. In addition, the most controversial legal figure in the history of German nationality law, the recently abolished option model, is examined from different legal perspectives.
