'The Law and Practice of Ensuring Security of Supply. With Special Regard to the Stockpiling of Food, Energy and Pharmaceuticals': The author analyses the highly topical issue from a historical, legal and economic perspective. Focusing on three key areas, a variety of cases in which consumables and commodities are stockpiled by (or under the mandate of) the state were described, contextualised and compared. It is shown which of the similarities and differences found are attributable to constitutional law and where government practice and policy are pushing, blurring and sometimes even exceeding legal limits.
