'Rights of Access to Nature and the Law of Public Property': Rights of access to nature allow individuals to enter natural areas for recreational purposes, regardless of ownership status, and restrict the private use of property. This study analyses the similarities and differences between these rights as laid down in German nature conservation law and the concept of commons in the law of public property, and develops policy proposals to appropriately balance conflicting public and private interests regarding recreation, property rights and nature conservation.
