Greenwashing
'Greenwashing. On the Potential Criminal Liability for Fraud in Relation to Environmental Advertising': This thesis examines the relevance of greenwashing under criminal fraud law. It focuses on the challenges that vague environmental claims such as 'green' and 'environmentally friendly' pose for the core elements of fraud, namely deception as to facts and financial loss. Drawing on ontological insights into the concept of fact and a further development of the doctrine of frustrated purpose, the dissertation develops solutions to these challenges.
