'Conflicts of Interest in the Legal Profession. Criminal and Professional Law Risks, Exemptions and Reform Proposals': The thesis addresses the problem area of conflicts of interest in the legal profession, in particular the criminal offence of betrayal of client under § 356 StGB and the prohibition against representing conflicting interests under § 43a(4) BRAO. The author develops a new, systematically sound concept of protected interests and a coherent, legally secure interpretation concept. Finally, reform proposals are evaluated and recommendations for a legislative redesign of the offence are formulated.
