This study raises the discussion of experience-based travel to the next level by showing potentials for enriching the already-existing ABB model with emotional offers and therefore creating hyperindividualized hotel experiences. The research question answered by the study is: How does the Experience-Based Booking and Selling (EBBS) model contribute to offering experiences rather than hotel rooms to meet currently visible societal trends and forming user demands?&lt;br/&gt;

The relevance for this study is provided by an increased demand for personalized, emotional experiences rather than standardized hotel room categories on which today’s hotel industry is widely based. To enable hotels to take an active role in shaping and controlling guest experiences, this study presents a theoretical vision of an Experience Based Booking and Selling (EBBS) model which is based on so-called extended service experiences. The model integrates a wide variety of features (room attributes, ancillaries, policies, and duration of stay) on different spatial levels (room, hotel, neighborhood, cooperation partners) throughout the guest’s whole user journey (Feature Pyramid). The features are individually combined according to a guest’s stated and non-communicable preferences and formed into hyper-personalized hotel room products.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2021 in the subject Business economics - Market research, grade: 1,0, University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf (Betriebswirtschaft), language: English, abstract: The trend of sustainability, fairness and quest for meaning can also be seen in tourism. People are looking for social engagement and a deeper meaning for their holidays. The tourism industry has long since reacted to this desire. As a niche market, voluntourism constitutes an alternative to mass tourism and has recorded a high quantitative and qualitative dynamism since the beginning of the 21st century. An increasing number of tourism providers see a viable economic potential in voluntourism. As a hybrid form of international voluntary service and tourism, it is designed as a bookable touristic offer and marketed within a competitive sector – although it is intended to serve a charitable purpose. The programmes, which were originally small-scale, are marketed commercially by professional tourism operators. Thus, being adapted to market principles and controversial basic elements, such as the adventure of the holidays on the one hand and the meaningful work on the other. Consequently, this trend reflects touristification and commercialisation.
This thesis will explore voluntourism from a different angle by studying the various providers in the German market and their business concepts regarding their product ranges, marketing, and realisation.

Seminar paper from the year 2023 in the subject Business economics - Business Ethics, Corporate Ethics, grade: 1,7, Heilbronn University, language: English, abstract: The goal of this paper is to find out if and why greenwashing is a curse for society, what the difference to sustainability is, how companies like Nike are involved and how they are dealing with it. 

In the first chapter this seminar paper is dedicated to the basics and will answer the following questions: What does greenwashing and what does sustainability mean? What are the different forms and characteristics of greenwashing? Is greenwashing and sustainability the same thing and if not, what are the differences? 

So here follows the classification and explanation of the term’s sustainability and greenwashing as well as their distinction from each other. 
The second chapter deals exclusively with the Nike brand. Here the corporate philosophy is explained, and the sustainability strategy is shown. This is underpinned by practical examples. 
The third chapter deals with the consequences and effects of greenwashing. It explains what the sins of greenwashing are and whether and how it affects today's society. Again a few examples are listed to provide practical relevance and to make it clear that it affects the entire society. 
How to reduce and recognize greenwashing are the subjects of chapter four. Additional solutions are sought here to avoid greenwashing. 
After that there will come a summary and a conclusion of the whole seminar paper.
