Mientras que en el corazón del continente se trazan las líneas maestras de la política económica actual, los países de la periferia se sienten perjudicados y quieren distanciarse de esas directrices. La eurozona debe enfrentarse ahora a esas fisuras que señaló la crisis originada en 2008 y trabajar para subsanarlas.En La crisis de la eurozona se examinan los puntos fuertes y las debilidades de Europa, y se ofrece un marco de análisis para explorar soluciones satisfactorias a medio y largo plazo.

La crisis de la eurozona

La robótica y el desarrollo de la tecnología en muy diversos ámbitos sitúan a la humanidad ante un horizonte tan esperanzador como incierto. A un lado, el tren de la abundancia: recursos suficientes para todos gracias a una tecnología liberadora del trabajo precario, democrática, simplificadora de problemas y mejoradora de experiencias. Al otro, el tren del feudalismo tecnológico: enorme desigualdad, pobreza y precariedad en un mundo gobernado por el poder desmesurado del ultracapitalismo tecnológico. En el tren de la abundancia la máquina está al servicio del ser humano y en el otro el hombre ha perdido su identidad en un mundo biónico y subyugado por el poder de la tecnoeconomía.Economía de la felicidad examina la encrucijada a que nos enfrentamos y propone, sin negar los riesgos distópicos que acechan al porvenir de la humanidad, una hoja de ruta con las claves para aprovechar la oportunidad que representa la tecnología y las posibilidades que esta abre para acabar con la pobreza, la desigualdad y el trabajo precario. La renta básica universal es condición necesaria, pero no suficiente.Concluyen los autores que necesitamos construir un nuevo paradigma centrado en una nueva educación basada en la libertad y el desarrollo de capacidades y talentos naturales. El foco ya no está en la herencia industrial de producir para consumir, sino de crear para ser feliz. El talento libre y motivado por un propósito superior es la clave para la construcción de auténticas economías del conocimiento, creativas y humanas, generadoras de prosperidad compartida. Solo en este nuevo mundo la economía de la felicidad es posible.

&lt;b&gt;This book provides practical guidance on the knowledge and skills required for managers whose role involves the management of the relationship with and the performance of strategically important suppliers.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;p&gt;Strategic suppliers provide critical products and services to their clients. In a production environment, if the supply chain for critical components breaks down and delivery dates are missed, the production line may stop. If an IT supplier fails to deliver key system development projects on time, the implications for the business can be catastrophic. With the growth of outsourcing, where entire business functions are delegated to a supplier, the dependency on them is further increased; with offshoring there are additional complexities. An organization’s ability to manage its strategic supplier base effectively is central to its performance, competitiveness, and future success.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This book provides practical guidance on the knowledge and skills required for managers whose role involves the management of the relationship with and the performance of strategically important suppliers. Although the focus is on the management of suppliers during the live relationship, the approach is holistic as the entire supplier management process is discussed in detail using a Supplier Lifecycle model. There are five stages—identify the business requirement, research the supply market, carry out procurement and supplier selection, integrate and transition to the new supplier and their services, and manage the delivery of the products and services for the contracted period.&lt;/p&gt;

Leading and Managing Strategic Suppliers

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2015 in the subject Business economics - Miscellaneous, grade: 9, University of Groningen (Business Economics), course: Bsc International Business, language: English, abstract: In this thesis a comparison is made between the H&amp;M Group and Inditex to measure the differences in overall performance of outsourcing and in-house production in the apparel industry. Outsourcing is often discussed in the literature as the perfect solution to cost reductions however the literature lacks results on the actual performance; this article measures the performance obtained through outsourcing and in-house production. H&amp;M is studied because it has a fully outsourced production, where Inditex mostly produces its products in-house. Performance is measured by the follow variables: costs, agility, asset utilization and product quality. Costs and asset utilization were measured using an independent samples t-test; comparing costs of goods sold salary expenses and overall expenses as a percentage of the revenue, asset utilization is measured by comparing the return on assets ratio. Agility is studied by an in-depth analysis and product quality based on a survey on consumer perception. The results show that H&amp;M has significantly reduced its costs by outsourcing, while Inditex with higher costs is able to keep a very short lead-time. H&amp;M has been successful in increasing return on assets and product quality is perceived equal for both companies. This article contributes to the field of research by showing that outsourcing does lead to cost reduction, however in-house production leads to better performance in agility.

Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2017 in the subject Business economics - Supply, Production, Logistics, grade: Pass, Ryerson University (Ted Rogers School of Management), language: English, abstract: The following report presents a justification for repatriating electronics manufacturing from China to the United States, by recommending a technological framework that serves to neutralize the benefits, namely lower labour costs, that lead to its original transition and expansion. This justification is specifically based on the premise that due to the expansion of global communications channels that have greatly improved the diffusion of new technological concepts, China’s access to technological innovation is not unique, and that its competitive factors of production are increasingly capable of being neutralized through the deployment of modern technological advances, including automation, artificial intelligence, 3D printing/adaptive manufacturing and others, and through a reduced level of human labour input.  Further enhancing the desirability of this model are advantages that would be gained in operational efficiency, reduced energy usage, stability and time-to-market, through their deployment.

La desigualdad de la distribución de ingresos en el Perú

Master's Thesis from the year 2020 in the subject Economics - Other, grade: 1,0, University of Hagen (Wirtschaftswissenschaft), language: English, abstract: Economic theory suggests that offshoring creates productivity-enhancing effects but literature in this area has been rather limited for service offshoring until recently. Thus, the contribution at hand tries to provide an overview of why firms engage in service offshoring and examine how service offshoring affects productivity. The work is structured as follows: Section 2 first provides a definition of the related terms and narrows down the topic of the paper. Section 3 briefly discusses service offshoring as a new paradigm of trade in the US. It also addresses the types of offshored service jobs, the offshore locations as well as the current volume of service offshoring. Section 4 discusses the various determinants that facilitate service offshoring. Section 5 contains the core analysis of this paper with the goal of analyzing the productivity effects of service offshoring theoretically and empirically.First, a Heckscher-Ohlin model by Feenstra and Hanson (1996, 1997, 1999) will be introduced as one of the earliest models addressing offshoring and productivity. Then the "trade in tasks" model by Grossman and Rossi-Hansberg (2008) is presented to illustrate how service offshoring affects productivity. On an empirical level, the studies from Amiti and Wei (2009) and Schwörer (2013) will be discussed to address how service offshoring affects productivity specifically in the US and Europe. This will be followed by a comparison of the two empirical studies. Section 6 summarizes the work and adds some final remarks.
