Im Zuge des digitalen Wandels sind Unternehmen gefordert, neue Technologien im Rahmen eines systematischen Technologiemanagements in ihren Funktionsbereichen einzuführen, um wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben. Gerade in der Logistik wird die Einführung neuer Technologien in Beschaffung, Produktion, Lagerhaltung, Distribution und Entsorgung maßgeblich durch bestehende IT-Strukturen, Geschäftsprozesse sowie den Faktor Mensch geprägt. Die Perspektive der Informationssystemlandschaft greift dabei die Gesamtheit aller Informationssysteme zur Realisierung der logistischen Leistungserbringung auf und bildet den zentralen Gestaltungsrahmen des Technologiemanagements. Das Paradigma der Anpassungsfähigkeit adressiert darüber hinaus den Umgang mit technologischem Fortschritt und dem Hervorgehen neuer Technologien. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit wird in diesem Kontext ein Managementansatz für anpassungsfähige Informationssystemlandschaften in der Logistik entwickelt, mit dessen Hilfe deren Anpassungsfähigkeit gesteigert werden kann. Das Paradigma der Anpassungsfähigkeit wird dabei anhand der Dimensionen Flexibilität, Wandlungsfähigkeit und Agilität differenziert betrachtet. Die Entwicklung des Managementansatzes erfolgt im Verlauf der Arbeit schrittweise, literaturgestützt sowie durch den Einbezug der Praxis im Rahmen einer qualitativen Studie. Die Ausführungen fußen auf einer in dieser Arbeit entwickelten Vorgehensweise zur empirisch gestützten Konzeptentwicklung (engl. grounded conceptualization).

Das Vereinigte Königreich setzte diesen Appell im Jahr 2000 mit Einrichtung des "Spoliation Advisory Panel" (SAP) um, das seither einen Streitbeilegungsmechanismus bietet, um auf die Ansprüche Berechtigter zu reagieren. Dieser Band nimmt die 22 Empfehlungen in den Blick, die das Panel bislang ausgesprochen hat. Die Entscheidungen werden vor dem Hintergrund der englischen Rechtstradition und -praxis sowie der historischen Rolle des Vereinigten Königreichs analysiert, systematisiert und einem abstrakten Regelwerk zugeführt. Die so sichtbar gemachte Entscheidungslinie des SAP kann als Diskussions- und Vergleichsgrundlage für die Restitutionspraxen anderer Staaten herangezogen werden.
