Frontiers in the Study of Japanese Competition Policy

The first collection of critical writings on the work of the influential contemporary French artist Pierre Huyghe. Influenced by wide-ranging ideas from land art and institutional critique to experimental cinematic practices and narrative film, the groundbreaking work of Pierre Huyghe since the early 1990s has arguably, even indelibly, altered the landscape of contemporary art. The French artist works at the beguiling intersection of fiction and reality, representation and performance, spectacle and memory, chance and agency, living organisms and technological entities. As formats and discourses of cinema (be it Godard or Lumet) and architecture, (invented or existing) holidays and games, (puppet) theatre and opera, fairy tales and (travel) literature, museology and computer technology, life sciences and popular culture (like Manga comics or Disney movies) are renegotiated in Huyghe’s variegated projects, the methods and modalities of producing, exposing, and experiencing art, in turn, come under both critical scrutiny and allegorical speculation.  Widerstand gegen die Hitler-Diktatur - das forderte den ganzen Menschen. Das war eine Sache von Leben und Tod. Das hieß, die Angst zu überwinden und sich täglich zu rüsten für den Kampf gegen ein menschenverachtendes Regime. All das verlangte viel Mut, große innere Unabhängigkeit, ein sicheres Empfinden für Recht und Unrecht und einen verlässlichen moralischen Kompass. Helmuth James von Moltke, der Kopf des Kreisauer Kreises, war einer der wenigen, die diese Eigenschaften mit sich brachten.  Anders als die meisten Mitglieder der bürgerlich-konservativen und der militärischen Opposition gegen Hitler war der am 11. März 1907 auf dem Familiengut im schlesischen Kreisau geborene Helmuth James von Moltke ein kompromissloser Gegner des Nationalsozialismus von allem Anfang an. Und er war der Spiritus Rector des Kreisauer Kreises, jener Widerstandsgruppe, die sich wie keine zweite in einem jahrelangen mühevollen Diskussionsprozess auf ein detailliertes Programm für eine Neuordnung nach Hitler verständigte. Bereits vor dem Attentat vom 20. Juli 1944 verhaftet, fiel er der Rache des Diktators zum Opfer und wurde von dessen Henker Roland Freisler vor dem Volksgerichtshof zum Tode verurteilt. Sein Briefwechsel mit seiner Frau Freya aus der Todeszelle in Tegel gehört zu den berührendsten Zeugnissen des Widerstands. Wie konnte Moltke zu dem werden, der er war? Woher nahm er die Kraft, wie fand er den Mut zum Widerstehen? Volker Ullrich stellt diese Fragen und erzählt die aufrüttelnde Lebensgeschichte eines Mannes, der Hitler bis zuletzt die Stirn bot.
