&lt;p&gt;This book showcases a selection of award-winning cases from the Global Contest for the Best China-focused Cases. The contests held between 2018 and 2022 recognized 63 exceptional cases, 13 of which are in this publication.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Each of the 13 cases has a unique focus. Some investigate how to capture value through new technologies and innovations or examine the intricate relationships between strategies, business models, and financial performance (examples include Freshippo, KFC China, Winner Technology, Geek+, and Alibaba vs. JD.com). Others analyze Chinese companies’ challenges when entering international markets and their strategic responses (Midea and SHEIN). Some delve into leadership, entrepreneurial management, family business succession, negotiation, and conflict management (EtonHouse, Antigal, Qiangda Chilli, and Dispute over Year-end Bonuses). Two cases discuss how social enterprises can better balance their social purposes with financial sustainability and how companies can integrate social and business innovation (Daddy Lab and AstraZeneca). These cases originate from Chinese and international business schools, highlighting global interest in China's business and management dynamics.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Echoing the Chinese proverb, “A single spark can start a prairie fire,” we firmly believe that with collective efforts, more faculty members will recognize the value of the case method and the extensive opportunities of China-themed cases in global management education. We are committed to collaborating with them to meet the growing demand for diverse cases with global perspectives.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This proceedings book is the 34th issue of the Springer&amp;rsquo;s series Eurasian Studies in Business and Economics, which is the official book series of the Eurasia Business and Economics Society. This book includes selected papers presented at the 47th EBES Conference&amp;mdash;Berlin&amp;mdash;on April 18&amp;ndash;20, 2024, hosted by FOM University of Applied Sciences, Berlin, Germany. In the conference, 229 papers by 458 colleagues from 52 countries were presented. The conference was held hybrid with both, in-person and online paper presentation formats.&lt;/p&gt;

Eurasian Business and Economics Perspectives

&lt;p&gt;This book explains the behaviour of output and its growth over time. It does so by deliberating over a choice among three fundamental models—the Samuelson-Swan-Solow neoclassical model, the Harrod-Domar model and the Keynesian model—to choose one fit for purpose. The criteria for goodness of fit are some mathematical properties of growth models. The model chosen for meeting these properties is the Keynesian model, which is a bit better on all these counts.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The chosen Keynesian model of aggregate demand has been used to explain the observed behaviour of Pakistan’s long-run growth of gross domestic product (GDP). Pakistan’s GDP growth over the long run between 1973 and 2019 is marked by a statistically significant hiatus at approximately 1992. Pre-1992, GDP growth on trend approximated 6 percent per annum. Post-1992, it drops on trend to approximately 4 percent per annum. Applied to the hiatus in Pakistan’s GDP growth after 1992, this model shows that pre-1992, high GDP growth is explained by high investment growth, paired with a low marginal propensity to consume (MPC), while post-1992, lowered GDP growth is explained by lower investment growth paired with a higher MPC. Thus, Pakistan’s higher GDP growth pre-1992 was investment-led while its lower GDP growth post-1992 has been consumption-led.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The book then traces the causality of these trends in investment and consumption to a falling trend in public investment. This is linked to an increasingly austere regulatory policy environment, while private investment fails to step in and maintain aggregate investment.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This book presents a comprehensive framework for understanding Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as a powerful tool for regional development, stimulating investment, creating employment opportunities, and supporting economic growth through tax incentives and other benefits. It explores the relationships between academic institutions, industry, policymakers, and institutional actors, and highlights how collaborations between public and private sectors drive economic growth. The book further provides insights into how these zones foster innovation, attract foreign investment, and promote regional advancement through an in-depth analysis of SEZ types such as export processing zones, free trade zones, and high-tech parks.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Drawing on global case studies, the book identifies key governance structures and labor policies that enhance SEZ performance. It also examines how strategic interventions can address labor market challenges, especially in developing countries. The book will appeal to scholars, policymakers, and stakeholders seeking to understand the role of SEZs in economic and employment growth worldwide.&lt;/p&gt;

Challenges and Opportunities in Italy

The Complex Environments of Special Economic Zones

&lt;p&gt;With an overarching conceptual framework and a synthesis of findings, this book is a unique collection of the experiences of twenty diverse cases of women’s collectives, holding critical lessons for livelihood enhancement and women’s empowerment. The book is the result of a collaborative project between the development organisation viz, PRADAN, working to strengthen women-led collectives under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and a group of development and management scholars hailing from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). Based on the documented cases using immersive methods and a feminist perspective, the book provides a critical analysis of the agency displayed by women and their collectives with the potential to induce changes in the socio-economic status of women hailing from disadvantaged sections.&amp;nbsp;Inclusion, governance and leadership, financial intermediation, livelihoods, and social action are the major outcome dimensions of the collectives examined in the book, as highlighted under SDG-5 which calls for &amp;nbsp;ensuring women’s effective participation and leadership and reforms to give women equal rights to economic resources. While the conceptual framework helps unravel the complex interlinkages visualised between women, livelihoods, and collectives, the cases in themselves and the synthesis objectively depict the lessons and challenges encountered by the collectives given the entrenched gender relations and the neoliberal policy narratives.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This book&amp;nbsp;serves as a source of real case studies for teaching and training, a reference work for researchers, and a guidance book for policymakers and practitioners.&lt;/p&gt;
