&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;A guide for business leaders working to create socially conscious, sustainable companies—while pursuing profits&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Amid growing international concerns about income inequality, labor abuses, racial injustice, and disinformation online, &lt;i&gt;Conscience&lt;/i&gt; &lt;i&gt;Incorporated&lt;/i&gt; examines the gaps in current corporate social responsibility measures and what more needs be done to address these challenges. The rise of new technologies such as smartphones and social media have made it easier than ever to document and spread awareness of corporate actions. Despite these developments, large corporations often fail to meaningfully address the human rights abuses linked to their business models and practices. In &lt;i&gt;Conscience&lt;/i&gt; &lt;i&gt;Incorporated,&lt;/i&gt; Michael Posner addresses what lies at the root of these challenges, drawing on his extensive personal experience as a human rights lawyer, State Department official under President Obama, chair of the Fair Labor Association and Director of the Center for Business and Human Rights at NYU Stern School of Business.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Drawing from research into the history of business ethics and anchoring his argument with examples of companies publicly accused of human rights abuses—Nike, Coca-Cola, Walmart, Meta, and more—Posner provides a blueprint for global business leaders to navigate human rights challenges and adopt sustainable corporate practices. &lt;i&gt;Conscience Incorporated &lt;/i&gt;highlights the need for increased protections for outsourced workers in faraway nations, greater attention to harmful online content, and prioritization of human rights by investors. He argues that growing public awareness has not been enough to enforce ethical practices for global businesses. &lt;p&gt;This book discusses the principle of open justice with a focus on the mechanism of video streaming of court proceedings. The principle of open justice is multidimensional and involves both the human right to a fair trial and freedom of expression. The book distinguishes between three components of open justice: public hearings, media coverage of proceedings, and publication of judgments. All three have been and/or could be substantially affected by the digital revolution: public hearings could benefit from video streaming, the media coverage from social media, and the publication of judgments from online databases.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br&gt;The book analyses recent advances and challenges related to the digitalization of open justice. Particular attention is paid to the relevant case law of European courts, to the impact of the GDPR with an emphasis on the sensitive issue of pseudonymizing judgments, and to a comparison of various national practices.&lt;br&gt;Although the book’s primary focus is on European law, it will also be of interest to scholars from other continents, either for purposes of comparative research, or because the topic itself touches on general theory of law issues.&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

Das Buch beleuchtet weiter die Haftungsfragen bei der Gründung einer Kommanditgesellschaft (KG) und klärt, wie Kommanditisten vor und nach der Eintragung im Handelsregister haften. Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2024 in the subject Business economics - Law, , language: English, abstract: This dissertation examines the impact of procedural justice on citizens' perceptions of police legitimacy in Trinidad and Tobago. The focus is on the erosion of public trust in law enforcement and how procedural justice can help rebuild that trust. Using Tom Tyler’s procedural justice model as the theoretical framework, the study analyzes the significance of several influencing variables on the perception of legitimacy. Employing a convergent parallel mixed-methods design, data were collected through online questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups. The findings indicate that procedural justice is the most important predictor of police legitimacy and emphasize its applicability in developing nations. The research aimed to expand the external validity of the theory and establish a new framework for trust and image restoration in police organizations.

Insbesondere wird in Zukunft häufiger zu klären sein, wie diese Instrumente im Fall einer Insolvenz zu beurteilen sind. Da hierzu bislang keine Rechtsprechung existiert, ist es lediglich eine Frage der Zeit, bis es zu ersten Streitfällen kommt. Dieser Aufsatz bietet eine wesentliche Grundlage und beseitigt vor allem Rechtsunsicherheiten. Es wird sowohl auf den technologischen Hintergrund der Werte als auch auf ihre ökonomische und rechtliche Ausgestaltung eingegangen. Es wird erläutert, wie die Insolvenzverwaltung Kenntnis über die Werte erlangen kann und inwiefern diese zur Insolvenzmasse gehören. Ebenfalls folgt eine nähere Betrachtung der zivilprozessualen Vollstreckbarkeit und der entsprechenden Verwertungspraxis. Gegen Ende wird ein Lösungsansatz für die Insolvenzverwaltung präsentiert und der Regulierungsbedarf durch den Gesetzgeber hervorgehoben.
