Organisational Culture and Its Role in Driving Innovation

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2017 in the subject Economics - Innovation economics, grade: 1,3, University of Constance, language: English, abstract: Patents seem to hinder sequential innovation in the software sector, and that this type of sequential industry. For biopharmaceuticals empirical results do not suggest a clear effect of patents on sequential innovation. Comparing these two industries, it will be shown that the industry characteristics of the software branch fit more accurate the assumptions of the experimental approach of Brüggemann et al. (2016) than does the biopharmaceutical branch, which overall seems to have a special position in the discussion about patents spurring innovation or not.

Sequential Innovation and Intellectual Property. A Comparison of Empirical and Experimental Findings

Master's Thesis from the year 2024 in the subject Economics - Innovation economics, grade: A, Riphah International University Islamabad (Faculty of Management Sciences), course: Masters in Engineering Management, language: English, abstract: This study explores the influence of technological innovation on the performance of telecom firms, with a focus on the mediating role of creative behavior and the moderating role of government policies supporting innovation. Data was collected from 326 employees in managerial and operational roles across telecom firms in Pakistan, using a convenience sampling method. Quantitative analysis was performed with SPSS and Smart PLS software.

Findings indicate that technological innovation significantly enhances telecom firms' performance. While creative behavior serves as a mediator, its impact is less pronounced. Contrary to expectations, government policies supporting innovation do not exhibit a moderating effect on the relationship between technological innovation and firm performance.

This research provides actionable insights for policymakers and telecom regulators to review and refine innovation policies, addressing their current ineffectiveness. The novel exploration of creative behavior as a mediating factor enriches the existing literature on innovation in the telecom sector. Limitations include the focus on a subset of telecom firms in Pakistan and the use of cross-sectional data.

The study offers practical implications for policy and decision-makers in fostering technological advancements, while contributing to theoretical understanding of innovation's role in enhancing firm performance in the digital age.

Markets and Power in Digital Capitalism

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2023 im Fachbereich VWL - Innovationsökonomik, Note: 1,0, Hochschule Fresenius Idstein, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit analysiert zwei innovative Produkte aus dem Mobilitätsbereich. Das erste innovative Produkt, welches im Rahmen dieser Hausarbeit analysiert wird, ist die Power-Swap-Station (PSS) von Nio. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Batterie-Wechselstation von Elektrofahrzeugen des Herstellers Nio. Hier soll innerhalb von rund fünf Minuten die bestehende Fahrzeugantriebsbatterie durch eine voll aufgeladene Batterie ausgetauscht werden. Darüber hinaus ist der Porsche Taycan Bestandteil dieser Hausarbeit. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf den verschiedenen Batterieladestrategien im Kontext der ausgewählten Einflussfaktoren.Die vorliegende Hausarbeit stützt sich im ersten Teil auf den Abschlussbericht der Studie PREMIUM der Universität Passau aus dem Jahr 2017. Dabei wurden die Kundenbedürfnisse zur Elektromobilität ermittelt. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse stellen ausgewählte Einflussfaktoren für die Elektromobilität dar. Hierbei wird ein besonderer Fokus auf die Studienhinweise zur Erhöhung der Flexibilität eines Elektrofahrzeugs gelegt. Diese Erkenntnisse bzw. Einflussfaktoren werden in einem nachfolgenden Kapitel nach einem selbst erstellten Bewertungsschema analysiert. Mittels SWOT-Analyse werden daraufhin die Stärken, Schwächen, Chancen und Risiken der beiden Innovationen dargelegt. Abschließend wird ein Fazit gezogen.

A Catalyst for Sustainable Digitalization in Asian Economies

Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2024 im Fachbereich VWL - Innovationsökonomik, Note: 1,7, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (Betriebswirtschaftslehre), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Abschlussarbeit befasst sich mit der Fragestellung, welche Künstliche Intelligenz (KI)-basierten Innovationspotentiale in verschiedenen Industriezweigen entstehen können und welche Rahmenbedingungen für diese Transformation geschaffen werden müssen. Als Grundbau dient hierfür das innovative Ökosystem. Durch ein dynamisches Netzwerk aus verschiedenen Akteuren und Entitäten, die ihre gemeinsamen Ressourcen bündeln, werden bestehende Geschäftsbereiche nachhaltig transformiert und neue Marktpotentiale erschlossen. Anschließend versuche ich die Fragestellung zu beantworten, welche Auswirkungen die Regulierung von KI auf die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und Innovationskompetenz auf Unternehmen hat. Der "Artificial Intelligence Act", der im Jahr 2021 veröffentlicht wurde, bildet hierbei den zentralen rechtlichen Rahmen. Die große Herausforderung besteht darin, einen ausgewogenen Regulierungsansatz zu entwickeln, der einerseits das Innovationswachstum nicht verlangsamt und gleichzeitig verschiedene Gefahrenpotentiale von KI unterbindet. Darauf bezogen ist die Entwicklung einer kollektiven Regulierungsstrategie der Privatwirtschaft und der Regulierungsbehörden unerlässlich für die Errichtung eines innovativen KI-Standorts in Europa. Die Transformation von der bestehenden Industriestruktur, hin zu einer KI-basierten Industrie 4.0 wird zu ungeahnten Innovations- und Wachstumschancen beitragen und das Industriegefüge nachhaltig revolutionieren.

Künstliche Intelligenz in der Industrie. Innovationspotenzial, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Regulierung

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2023 im Fachbereich VWL - Innovationsökonomik, Note: 2,7, Universität Stuttgart (Betriebswirtschaftslehre), Veranstaltung: Innovations- und Dienstleistungsmanagement, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Bedeutung des Innovationsmanagements anhand zweier ausgewählter internationaler Unternehmen für die Laborausrüstungsbranche darzustellen. Hierfür wird eine Fallstudienanalyse durchgeführt. Zunächst wird dem Leser im Rahmen des Kapitels der theoretischen Grundlagen, die Handlungsfelder des Innovationsmanagements erläutert. Hierbei wird näher auf die vier Felder: Innovationsorganisation, Innovationsprogramm, Führungsverhalten und Innovationskultur eingegangen. Im anschließenden Kapitel wird der Begriff Laborausrüstung definiert und der Laborausrüstungsmarkt kurz dargestellt. Auf dieser Grundlage erfolgt in Kapitel vier eine Fallstudienanalyse zweier ausgewählter Unternehmen. Dafür werden die Unternehmen Thermo Fisher Scientific und Sartorius auf Basis der im zweiten Kapitel definierten Handlungsfelder, untersucht. Im nächsten Kapitel werden die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede der zwei Unternehmen hinsichtlich des Innovationsmanagements diskutiert und Schlussfolgerungen auf die Laborausrüstungsbranche gezogen. Zum Abschluss der Seminararbeit werden im Rahmen des Fazits mögliche Limitationen festgelegt und ein zukünftiger Forschungsbedarf aufgezeigt.
