This open access book proposes slow memory as a new framework for understanding how remembrance operates across time, urging scholars and practitioners to resist the acceleration that characterizes both contemporary scholarship and public memory cultures. The authors explore the theoretical foundations of slow memory in relation to environmental humanities and Indigenous studies, emphasizing themes of deep time, intergenerational justice, and contested memory regimes. The collection focuses on the fields of environment, (de)industrialization, welfare, politics, and conflict to examine how gradual transformations impact the present through remembrance practices at different tempos. It advocates for a deceleration of scholarly and commemorative practices to develop ethical, sustainable, and inclusive engagements with the past. By foregrounding slowness as a conceptual and methodological tool, and slow memory as a "connective concept," this book offers a vital framework for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners seeking to rethink the temporalities of remembrance in an era of rapid transformation. Die Wahrnehmung und Nutzung von Kunst und Kultur ist seitdem primär das Resultat eines Organisationsprozesses, der von korporativen Akteuren – privatwirtschaftlichen Unternehmungen, öffentlichen und staatlichen Organisationen, gemeinnützigen Stiftungen – angeleitet wird und welcher durch seine immer stärke Ausrichtung am Markt sowohl neue Freiheiten aber auch Zwänge für Künstler einerseits und Nutzer andererseits geschaffen hat. Kulturorganisationen und ihr Personal bestimmen maßgeblich über die Produktion, Distribution und Rezeption von Kunst und Kultur. Sie legen z. B. die Kontexte und Orte ihrer Aufführung und Vermittlung fest, oder nehmen sogar Einfluss auf deren Pro-duktion und Nutzung/Re-Produktion, etwa durch die Einflussnahme auf künstlerische Wertschöpfung oder die Reklamation von Leistungsschutzrechten.

The challenge of disentangling political communication processes and their effects has grown with the complexity of the new political information environment. But so have scientists' toolsets and capacities to better study and understand them. This edited volume focuses on the use of Computational Communication Science (CCS) to address key questions in political communication, highlighting methodological innovations and the theoretical, practical, and institutional challenges in the field. Topics include clickbaiting, propaganda, political polarization, and media framing.The book starts by mapping the challenges and opportunities of data collection and analysis, focusing on computational methods to address theory-driven questions in political communication. Chapters highlight the theoretical, empirical, and institutional aspects of Computational Communication Science (CCS) relevant to the field, assessing the challenges of data requirements, digital signal semantics, and the crucial role of infrastructures, academic institutions, ethics, and training in computational methods. Especially in middle- and upper-class milieus, childhood appears as a spatial crisis in which children are patronised and disempowered in the name of protection. Claudia Mock draws on intergenerational biographies and mental maps from Nairobi and Berlin to reveal how security discourses intertwine with bourgeois values and architectures, reshaping childhoods in these cities in surprisingly similar ways since 1960. By identifying bourgeois lifestyles and adultism as integral to anthropocentric urban crises, she calls for cities to be reimagined through intergenerational spatial justice.

Auch Fragen zu einer potenziellen Restitution bei Vorliegen nachweisbarer Unrechtskontexte werden verschiedentlich verhandelt.
