Am Anfang wird die allgemeine Maxwell’sche Theorie der elektromagnetischen Felder und ihre Unterteilung in grundlegende Spezialfälle ausführlich dargestellt. Auf die Verbindung zwischen Feldtheorie und der Theorie der elektrischen Netzwerke wird ausführlich eingegangen. In den nachfolgenden Kapiteln liegt der methodische Schwerpunkt in der Aufstellung und Lösung grundlegender Randwertprobleme der Elektro- und Magnetostatik, stationären Strömungsfelder, zeitabhängigen Diffusionsfelder in elektrischen Leitern sowie Wellenfelder im Freiraum, entlang von Leitungen und in Hohlräumen.
