The book also offers some Case Studies and specialists' perspectives exploring real success stories deriving from firms, managers, scholars and practitioners committed to the mission of positively integrating managing new technologies.

Andrea Sestino is Research Fellow. and Adjunct Professor of Management and Marketing Studies at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Italy. He is also Adjunct Professor of Management and Marketing Studies at both Luiss Guido Carli University and Luiss Business School Rome, Italy, and Visiting Lecturer at the School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability, Halmstad University, Sweden. His research interests fall&nbsp;in the areas of&nbsp;digitalization, new technologies and innovation, and its impact on business and consumers.

Luigi Nasta is an Assistant Professor of Management at John Cabot University (Rome, Italy). Additionally, he serves as a Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at Luiss Business School (Rome, Italy), with a focus on research activities within the Creative Industry Competence Center. He was a visiting researcher at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI) at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. His research interests are in the fields of digitalization, business models, technology acceptance and sustainability.

Der zweite Teil des Buches widmet sich daher zunächst ausführlich ihrer Abgrenzung zu Fiatgeld, ihren Nutzern und Regulierungsfragen. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt schließlich auf der Bedeutung virtueller Währungen für Zentralbanken im Hinblick auf Auswirkungen auf den Geldmarkt und weitere relevante Politikfelder. Hier werden mögliche Reaktionen der Zentralbanken diskutiert und ob virtuelle Währungen eine ernstzunehmende Gefahr für das Geldschöpfungsmonopol sowie eine tatsächliche Konkurrenz im Geldsystem darstellen. Das Buch schließt mit einem Blick auf die Blockchain-Technologie und ihrer Bedeutung für verschiedene Finanzbranchen.
