Eugen Ehrlich

As the creator of "living law," Eugen Ehrlich is considered to be a founder of the sociology of law and a pioneer of legal pluralism. During his lifetime, he was a leading figure in the free law movement. His home province, Bukovina, continues to inspire scholars of legal and cultural pluralism. This volume includes interdisciplinary perspectives on Ehrlich's historical contexts and the reception of his work up to the present day. It also contains seven essays by Eugen Ehrlich which have been recently rediscovered.
