Marketing and Communication Strategies of Sustainable Startups

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Jura - Medienrecht, Multimediarecht, Urheberrecht, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Neue Produkte integrieren zunehmend eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Technologien, wodurch oft auf Innovationen anderer Unternehmen zurückgegriffen werden muss. Infolgedessen sehen sich Produkthersteller häufig gezwungen, eine Vielzahl von Patentlizenzen verschiedener Lizenzgeber zu erwerben, was mit hohen Gebühren verbunden ist. Insbesondere für Lizenzsuchende, die eine Technologie nach Maßgabe eines technischen Standards anbieten möchten und hierfür ein standardessentielles Patent (SEP) benötigen, stellt dieses Patentdickicht eine Marktzutrittsschranke dar. Marktzutrittsbarrieren können etwa auch daraus folgen, dass ein Patentinhaber die Relevanz seines Patents in Standardisierungsverfahren aus strategischen Erwägungen spät offenlegt. Lizenzsucher werden insgesamt in vielfältiger Weise in der Nutzung bestimmter technischer Lösungen behindert. Da die Anzahl an Patenten, die einzelne Produkte schützen, in den vergangenen Jahren deutlich gestiegen ist, liegt in diesen Phänomenen inzwischen eine grundlegende Beeinträchtigung der Innovationskraft der deutschen und europäischen Volkswirtschaft. Zur Lösung dieser Problematik werden Patentpools vorgeschlagen. Die Europäische Kommission ermutigt Standardsetzungsorganisationen und SEP-Inhaber dazu, wirksame und transparente Möglichkeiten der SEP-Lizenzierung über Lizenzierungsplattformen zu finden und führt Patentpools als eine dieser Möglichkeiten an. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht das Potenzial von Patentpools in Bezug auf die oben beschriebenen wirtschaftlichen Problemstellungen sowie die kartellrechtlichen Grenzen, die es bei der Ausgestaltung und Umsetzung eines Patentpools zu beachten gilt.

Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2022 in the subject Business economics - Company formation, Business Plans, grade: 1,8, University of Cooperative Education Eisenach, course: Business English, language: English, abstract: 95% of all start-ups become self-employed in traditional companies and conventional business areas. Accordingly, 5% of all start-ups are based on innovative business ideas in less exploited business fields. However, the number of newly founded companies that pursue an innovative business idea is steadily increasing. These young companies are referred to as start-ups. A founder who sets up his own business with a new product or an innovative service will in all likelihood have a certain competitive advantage over potential, but also over existing and competing business enterprises on the market. The prerequisite for this competitive advantage is, of course, that the product or service offered is mature and free of defects. In addition, the product or service must have a unique selling proposition. However, it is also true for innovative start-ups that the product or service must be tailored to the needs of the market.

Ways into a business
Basic informations

The following three options are available for becoming self-employed:
-A start up as a new foundation of a business; 
-A company succession as a great challenge for entrepreneurs; 
-A Start up as a Franchising partner like “MC Donald’s, Burger King, Subway, Die Rollenden Friseure”.

New foundation 
Start-ups are particularly popular among entrepreneurs because they can design and align the company according to their ideas from the beginning and start new business models without ballast. In addition, there may not be a suitable company on the market with which the business idea (innovation) can be efficiently realised or the founder may not have the financial means to acquire one. 
In turn, the founder must master the entire start-up process with all its challenges independently. The business idea, the founder's know-how and an elaborated business plan with estimates and forecasts of turnover, costs, capital requirements are very important prerequisites for success and for support/subsidies also from financial support from banks with regard to a successful business start-up. In order to cope with the above-mentioned tasks, it is often expedient not to start alone, but with one or more partners. Partners who complement each other's complement each other's skills. This is especially true in the case of distributed technical and commercial knowledge and talents.

Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2023 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensgründung, Start-ups, Businesspläne, Note: 1,3, Universität Duisburg-Essen (Mercator School of Management), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Masterarbeit von Enzo Watermann, getitelt "Entrepreneurship im Opportunity Space Bauhandwerk: Von der Entdeckung einer Geschäftsidee bis zur Validierung eines Geschäftsmodells", positioniert sich an der Schnittstelle von Innopreneurship und Klimaschutz. Sie fokussiert sich auf das deutsche Bauhandwerk – eine Branche, die sowohl durch ihre Größe als auch durch ihre Relevanz für die Erreichung der deutschen Klimaziele von enormer Bedeutung ist. In Anbetracht der globalen Erwärmung und der spezifischen Herausforderungen wie Fachkräftemangel und Digitalisierungsdefizite im Handwerk, zielt die Arbeit darauf ab, den Raum für innovative Geschäftsideen zu erkunden und zu analysieren. 

Mittels eines methodischen Ansatzes, der Design Thinking und Lean Startup Prinzipien kombiniert, wird das transformative Potential eines Digital-First Startups im Bauhandwerk beleuchtet. Der Autor nutzt qualitative und quantitative Forschungsmethoden, darunter Kundeninterviews, Suchtrendanalysen, Landingpage und Prototyp, um einen Sweet Spot of Innovation zu identifizieren. Dieser Punkt stellt die optimale Konvergenz von Kundenbedürfnissen, Marktlücken und persönlichen Unternehmerambitionen des Autors dar. Die Ergebnisse der Arbeit weisen auf das beträchtliche Potential hin, das in der Harmonisierung von digitalen Innovationen mit traditionellen Handwerksstrukturen liegt. 

Das vorgeschlagene Geschäftsmodell Artys adressiert die ermittelten Chancen und bietet eine Grundlage für die digitale Transformation des Sektors, die sowohl die Kundenzufriedenheit als auch die operative Effizienz steigern könnte. Die Arbeit stellt nicht nur einen wesentlichen akademischen Beitrag dar, sondern bietet auch praxisrelevante Erkenntnisse für Akteure im Bereich der digitalen Innovation im Handwerk. 

Die Studie unterstreicht die Notwendigkeit unternehmerischer Maßnahmen zur Förderung eines nachhaltigen Deutschlands im Klimaschutzkontext. Sie reflektiert die wachsende Bedeutung des Unternehmertums für gesellschaftliche und ökologische Belange und reflektiert die Überzeugung des Autors, dass ein Engagement im Bauhandwerk sowohl eine geschäftliche Opportunität als auch eine ethische Verantwortung zur Gestaltung einer beständigen Zukunft darstellt.

Einsendeaufgabe aus dem Jahr 2024 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensgründung, Start-ups, Businesspläne, Note: 1,3, Deutsche Hochschule für Prävention und Gesundheitsmanagement GmbH, Veranstaltung: Strategische Unternehmensführung 1, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese wissenschaftliche Arbeit untersucht die Erstellung eines Strategieberichts für ein Gesundheitsstudio in Dortmund, eingebettet in die Expansionsstrategie einer international agierenden Unternehmensgruppe im europäischen Fitnessmarkt. Die Arbeit basiert auf einer umfassenden strategischen Analyse, die Markttrends, Wettbewerbsfaktoren und Standortpotenziale einbezieht. Aufbauend auf dieser Analyse wird ein Konzept entwickelt, das als Leitfaden für die zukünftige Positionierung und Entscheidungsfindung dient.

Die Untersuchung beleuchtet zentrale Aspekte wie Zielgruppenanalyse, Differenzierungsstrategien und nachhaltige Geschäftsmodelle im Gesundheits- und Fitnesssektor. Abschließend bietet der Strategiebericht praxisnahe Empfehlungen, die eine fundierte Grundlage für die Geschäftsführung zur Umsetzung ihrer Expansionsziele schaffen.

&lt;p&gt;This book offers theoretical and empirical contributions on the approaches, policies, practices concerning the inclusion of migrants through social entrepreneurship. Grounded in a multi-disciplinary approach and with a special focus on the Adriatic-Ionian region, the book offers a debate on the antecedents, processes and outcomes of social entrepreneurship and migrants’ inclusion, describing some innovative initiatives and their potential transferability in other contexts.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Adriatic-Ionian macro-region represents an interesting yet overlooked area of research, characterized by evolving migration and inclusion policies, together with specific legislation and reforms for social entrepreneurship. The migration dynamics along the so-called Balkan Route confer to this macro-region strong political relevance in the field of security and migration management.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Contributing to the targets of SDG 8, the book contextualizes the opportunities offered by social entrepreneurship as a form of decent work for migrants, and of potential growth driver for local and international territories.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

It affects millions of people around the globe. Moreover, it is a condition that is often seriously misunderstood and stigmatized, and as well often seen as a personal failing rather than a systemic problem.  
Corresponding to the Harvard Business Case Study “Creating a purpose-driven organization”, we (EMPOWERLIFE, a fictive company) have a clear purpose: to positively impact the lives of homeless individuals. EMPOWERLIFE is committed to provide immediate assistance while empowering them to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose. We venture to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every person feels a sense of belonging. By aligning individual values with our organization's purpose, EMPOWERLIFE foster a motivated team that understands their role in realizing our mission. Together, we work unremittingly to offer resources, chances, and support, ensuring that no one is left behind. Join us in creating a meaningful change and bring-ing hope to those in need. 

The goal within this report is to create an idea and plan for social entrepreneurship. During that, the experiences and creative moments of this spring semesters course: “Cross-Cultural Creativity and Entrepreneurship” will be applied. To explain and pitch the chosen idea, this report is structured into four main chapters including the introduction. After the introduction, in the second chapter, the target group will be the subject. The main focus in this chapter is to analyse the situation and the market. Based on that, the third chapter is about my personal reasons and motivation to choose this particular group. Subsequently, the last chapter, chapter four, is about the business concept including all creative solutions and ideas which are planned.
