The movement away from traditional rented approaches to meeting the housing needs of those on modest incomes has taken on new momentum in the latest economic cycle. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;   &lt;p&gt;This book answers some of the questions around affordable housing and low cost home ownership, and whether these intermediate tenures have the potential to play a longer term role in achieving sustainable housing markets.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The editors clarify the principles on which the development of affordable housing and intermediate tenures has been based; analyse the policy instruments used to implement these ideas; and make a preliminary assessment of their longer tem value to households and governments alike.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;Making Housing More Affordable: the role of intermediate tenures&lt;/i&gt; brings together an evidence base for researchers and policy makers as they assess past experience and work to understand future options. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The book draws mainly on experience of the intermediate housing market in England but also on examples of policies that have been implemented across the world. It clarifies both the challenges and the achievements of governments in providing a well operating intermediate market that can help meet the fundamental goal of ‘a decent home for every household at a price within their means’. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The first section outlines the principles and practice of intermediate housing and examines the instruments and mechanisms by which it has been provided internationally. The next section estimates who might benefit from being in intermediate housing and projects the take-up of different products in the future. Section III examines the supply side and Section IV introduces some case studies of who gets what.  The final section looks at how effectively the intermediate market operates over the economic cycle.&lt;/p&gt;

El libro comienza con una exposicion general sobre el recurso de queja, abordando sus origenes, marco normativo y principales caracteristicas. Luego, el autor ofrece un detallado analisis de las tendencias actuales del recurso, para finalmente centrase en dilucidar que es lo que constituye una falta o abuso grave en los terminos establecidos en el Codigo Organico de Tribunales y, por lo tanto, cuando es procedente la interposicion y acogimiento de este medio de impugnacion. Todo ello, a partir de un pormenorizado estudio de la jurisprudencia reciente de la Corte Suprema.

Esta Introduccion a los Derechos Humanos: Analisis, Doctrina y Jurisprudencia busca ilustrar a los alumnos acerca de algunas de las principales discusiones existentes en el mundo del Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos.   A partir del estudio de doce materias especficas, el autor presenta importantes sentencias de tribunales regionales de derechos humanos, preguntas de trabajo acerca de aquellas y bibliografa actualizada en torno a las diversas temticas de derechos humanos. Este libro no es un manual tradicional de derecho del tipo descriptivo y omnicomprensivo, sino que introduce diferentes mecanismos que incentivan el dilogo reflexivo sobre los temas jurdicos esenciales relacionados con los derechos humanos. Su fin es promover un proceso de aprendizaje activo en clases, metodologa esencial para desarrollar el espritu crtico de los alumnos y, por lo mismo, resulta un apoyo fundamental para la docencia en esta rea del derecho.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2011 in the subject Business economics - Banking, Stock Exchanges, Insurance, Accounting, grade: 1,0, Kiel University of Applied Sciences, language: English, abstract: The following striking news was announced on 26 August 2010 in Brussels on the billboard of the involved parties: “Antitrust: Commission opens formal probe into marine insurance agreements” (Commission 2010a, IP/10/1079: 1-2).From that day on publication no. IP/10/1072 became a well-known EU paper among marine insurance market participants. It has influenced its daily operation, although this is not necessarily obvious, since it is still considered a rather sensitive topic and is thus hidden from any further publicity.  After having announced this, the European Commission has made good on its word and started an investigation process of which the following extract lays the foundation:The thirteen largest clubs of non-governmental mutual marine insurance societies, the Protection &amp; Indemnity clubs (P&amp;I clubs), are members of the International Group of P&amp;I clubs. Currently they insure third-party liabilities to more than 90% of the world sea-going tonnage, around 95% of the ocean-going tankers and about 60% in terms of the amount of world-wide trading vessels. These clubs are covered by an agreement of mutuality, the International Group Agreement (IGA). They are bound by its particular guidelines on claims-sharing and joint reinsurance with the intention of preventing other member clubs from undercutting each other’s price rates in case of a ship owner switching from its insuring club (holding club) to another club (new club) within the Group membership. The EU commission claims some of the regulations of the International Group of P&amp;I Clubs are questionable in terms of the competition among the member P&amp;I clubs as well as the entry barriers for non-member clubs to the relevant markets.

Este manual ofrece pistas y tecnicas para construir y sustentar una argumentacion juridica convincente y tambien para incitar a los juristas a no descuidar y descartar el valor del metodo en sus trabajos. Uno de sus objetivos es demostrar el valor agregado del uso de un metodo -en especial, del metodo que el autor plantea- durante un trabajo juridico.   La primera parte del libro se dedica, por tanto, a la presentacin de algunas tcnicas que pueden ser tiles para la construccin de textos jurdicos como artculos, monografa, disertaciones y tesis, mientras que la segunda parte se enfoca en la explicacin de mtodos utilizables para comentar la jurisprudencia, que es un ejercicio de una gran relevancia en la elaboracin de esos mismos trabajos, pero cuya particularidad le otorga un tratamiento especial y separado en el libro.
