Trade & Structural Change (1984) examines the world of trade induced adaptations that were brought about by the resumption of tariffs and other import controls following the OPEC price rises. The world economy had begun globalising in the 1960s, with trade barriers being dismantled with the aim of a free trade regime, but worldwide recession caused a resumption of tariffs and barriers.
