The interdependence of language and culture is highlighted through an analysis of the evolution of different languages and the economic consequences of linguistic diversity, as well as the impact of language on consumer behavior and the creation of gendered economic structures. Particularly attention is given to the impact of languages on macroeconomics, including the relationship between language and trade, and language and migrations. The challenge of globalization to minority languages and the growth of multilingual societies is also discussed, alongside the specific dynamics between economics and language at a regional level.&nbsp;It also addresses new developments in LLM (large language models).

This book redefines ideas of liberty and equality for the modern world. After exploring the origins of liberalism and the role of natural liberty as a principle of social organisation, liberty and equality are reconceived as complex and continuous notions that need support from social institutions to function. Such an approach allows an investigation of the connection between alternative conceptions of liberty and equality, diverging principles of social organization, and the assessment of the coherence and consistency of the entire programme.
 By rejecting the existing notions underpinning traditional liberalism, a new framework for socio-liberalism is presented where there is a clear distinction between the social and the private domains. The former is based on value-hierarchy and the latter is guided by alternative principles of economic organisation. The role of education, and the need for institutions to support individual development and sovereignty, are highlighted as a way of enabling this new structure of liberal society where inevitable inequalities are made explicit, contained, and used to serve the public interest.
 Amos Witztum is a Professor of Economics. For many years also a Research Associate at the 
 Centre for the Philosophy of Natural and Social Sciences

Although the book became the foundation of a particular approach to economic theorizing-later termed macroeconomics, in contrast to the microeconomics of the neoclassical school, which had just begun to dominate the discipline in the early decades of the 20th century-it can be argued that Keynes never achieved what Thomas Kuhn described as a scientific revolution: a true paradigm shift.This book not only revisits the debate on the 'revolution that never was' within a philosophy of science framework-one that clearly distinguishes between paradigmatic variations and paradigmatic alternatives, thus differentiating between economic orthodoxy and heterodoxy-but also argues that the 'Keynesian revolution' of the 1940s and 1950s was merely the orthodox response to ward off a genuine paradigm shift.
