Security Management of Public Sports Events

This case study examines security management at public sports events using German football stadiums as a case study. It focuses on the cooperation between public authorities and private security providers and evaluates frameworks like the National Concept of Sport and Safety (NKSS). Based on expert interviews, case studies, and quantitative surveys, the study identifies structural challenges, communication gaps, and areas for reform. The goal is to develop practical recommendations for future large-scale events-such as UEFA EURO 2024-to better manage risks and sustainably enhance public safety.
