Das Handbuch soll einen ebenso umfassenden wie pointierten Überblick über die Themen der Führungslehre in der deutschsprachigen Polizei geben. Es soll einerseits eine aktuelle Bestandsaufnahme des theoretischen und empirischen Ist-Standes polizeilicher Führung sein, andererseits die praktische Ausführung, Anwendung und Ausgestaltung von Führung innerhalb der Polizei umfassend aufzeigen. Hierdurch soll es (evidenz-basierte) Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten zukünftiger Polizeiführung eröffnen.
 Zwei Perspektiven bilden dabei den Kern des Werkes.Die wissenschaftliche Perspektive stellt die aktuellen Wissensbeständen zu den Themenbereichen der Polizeilichen Führung umfassend dar. Dazu werden klassische Führungsthemen mit Bezug zu den Bedingungen und Besonderheiten der und in der Polizei aufgegriffen.Die praktische Perspektive zeigt den Vollzug polizeilicher Führung in seinen unterschiedlichen Ausprägungen: vom Führen der Mitarbeitenden auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen der Polizeiorganisation, über das Führen von Dienststellen (zum Beispiel eine Polizeiinspektion, Polizeipräsidium, etc.), Einheiten (zum Beispiel BePo, SEK, VG, KIT, etc.), Studierendengruppen an den Polizeihochschulen und -akademien, Trainingsgruppen in Aus- und Fortbildung (zum Beispiel im Schießen, Sport, Kämpfen, etc.) bis hin zum Führen von Einsätzen (zum Beispiel BAO LebEL).Damit beansprucht das Handbuch das Standardwerk für das Führen in der Polizei zu sein. Mit dieser Perspektive richtet es sich an Polizeipraktiker*innen, Entscheider*Innen und Wissenschaftler*innen, um einen praktischen und wissenschaftlichen Zugang zu Themen der polizeilichen Führungslehre zu erhalten.Durch das Vereinen der wissenschaftlichen und praktischen Perspektive auf das Führen in der Polizei bringt das Handbuch aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse mit- und gegeneinander ins Gespräch.

Multilateral environmental agreements have over the last four decades emerged as the preferred avenue to address inter-state environmental issues such as climate change. The book considers the structures and processes that lead to the successful adoption of the Paris Agreement - and contrasting them with other attempts that failed in bringing states together under a legally-binding solution. Christina Voigt explores the whole "life-cycle" of multilateral environmental agreements. Also emphasised is the impact of emerging economies in shaping international environmental regimes.

Multilateralism has been increasingly accepted as the modus operandi in world politics, and in global environmental politics in particular. International environmental law in the form of multilateral environmental agreements has over the last four decades emerged as the preferred avenue to address inter-state environmental issues that either cross state boundaries, materialize beyond national jurisdictions or are of genuinely global nature such as climate change.This book analyses the possibilities as well as the limitations of environmental treaty making between states. The book considers the structures and processes that lead to the successful adoption of the Paris Agreement – and contrasting them with other attempts that failed in bringing states together under a legally-binding solution. Christina Voigt explores the whole "life-cycle" of multilateral environmental agreements, from diplomatic exchanges, to treaty negotiations, to analyses of the treaty text, non-compliance mechanisms and finally to recourse to courts. It also emphasises the strong impact of the sovereign powers of emerging economies such as China and Brazil on the shaping of international environmental regimes.

Environmental Multilateralism and its Discontents

Master's Thesis from the year 2025 in the subject Leadership and Human Resources - Recruiting, grade: 1,2, University of Applied Sciences Dortmund, language: English, abstract: This master's thesis explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern recruitment processes with a particular focus on applicants' trust. As digitalization and AI increasingly transform the world of work, organizations are adopting AI-supported recruiting tools to enhance efficiency, standardization, and data-driven decision-making. At the same time, the use of AI in personnel selection raises important questions regarding transparency, fairness, and acceptance from the applicants' perspective.

The objective of this thesis is to examine how applicants perceive AI-assisted recruitment processes and which aspects are relevant for the development of trust in this context. To address this research objective, a qualitative research design was chosen. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with participants who had either experienced AI-supported recruitment processes or reflected on their expectations toward such processes.

The empirical data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis following Kuckartz' approach. This method allows for a systematic examination of subjective perceptions, attitudes, and evaluations, while combining theory-driven and data-driven coding. The analysis focuses on applicants' experiences with different forms of AI usage in recruitment, their expectations toward human and technological decision-making, and their assessment of AI-supported processes within the broader candidate journey.

By linking theoretical concepts of trust in technology with empirical insights from applicants, this thesis contributes to the growing body of literature on AI in recruiting. In addition, it provides a structured foundation for further academic research and offers valuable insights for organizations seeking to better understand applicant perspectives on AI-supported recruitment processes.

This open access book investigates the role played by copyright on the digitisation of cultural heritage from three angles: the theoretical differences between cultural property law and copyright; a comparative analysis of the EU, UK, and US; and analysis of current practices and concerns, based on empirical research. As heritage digitisation projects become increasingly common for purposes such as preservation and access, the impact of copyright is also becoming more problematic. In order to provide a full and current picture of the copyright problem, the book first introduces the reader to the debates on the scope and ownership of cultural heritage and provides an overview of the copyright implications of the digitisation process and newer uses, including 2D and 3D scanning; virtual and augmented reality; text and data mining; and artificial intelligence. The author then divides the main critical analysis into three parts, referred to as the 'clashes with copyright'. The first, clash in theory, lies between cultural property law and copyright justification theories. The second clash is in the different legal approaches to digitising in-copyright, public domain, orphan, out-of-commerce and unpublished works in the chosen jurisdictions, focusing on the relevant rights and defences. The third clash is in the interests of stakeholders, based on public reactions to existing projects and cases, supported by interviews with heritage professionals engaging in digitisation. By placing itself in this particular intersection of law, heritage, and technology, the book will be of interest to both intellectual property academics and cultural heritage professionals.
