Mellor A: Luminous Clay

Luminous Clay

Working with Bone China and Porcelain Paperclay

Der spezifische Blickwinkel lautet also:

Text: Angelika Nollert, Nobert Peeters, Xenia Riemann-Tyroller.

DISCOVER THE NAIL-BITING NEW THRILLER FROM THE NUMBER ONE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER 'Claire Douglas is a class act - she never, ever disappoints' LISA JEWELL When Imogen is told she's inherited a country house near Bath, she thinks it must be a mistake. She last saw its owner, reclusive artist Dorothea Roe, sixteen years ago, during a tragic summer which changed her life for ever. Now, with partner Josh in tow, it's a chance for a fresh start. But after discovering an old box with her name on it in Dorothea's abandoned study, Imogen starts to believe the woman was trying to send her a secret message. And when rumours begin to swirl that Dorothea was murdered, she starts to suspect that this gift might not be the life-line she thought it was. Who would want to kill Dorothea? Could it be tangled up in Imogen's own dark family history? And what if Imogen is now the one in danger? The Family Friend

A book where art and fashion merge in a blend of knowledge, passion, creativity, and beauty. The pure distillation of the Dolce&Gabbana spirit. Since the 1990s, Dolce&Gabbana has consistently taken inspiration from the world of art, drawing upon the evocative power of painting and sculpture to enrich its collections. This dialogue with the artistic world became even deeper and more structured with the launch of Alta Moda in 2012 and Alta Sartoria in 2015. These two key chapters in the fashion house’s history established an even closer and more conscious connection between sartorial creations and great masterpieces of art, celebrating their uniqueness, excellence, and timeless beauty in, for example, a dress with Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers, or a cape embroidered with Caravaggio’s Basket of Fruit. This book richly illustrates all the artistic sources that inspire the fashion house: from the great Italian Renaissance masters, such as Leonardo, Botticelli, Titian, and Raphael, to the various contemporary movements, like Dalí’s dreamlike surrealism, Jackson Pollock’s Action Painting, Basquiat’s street art, and Keith Haring’s graffiti.

SON OF BANZAI!

The remarkable new work of fiction from the Booker Prize-winning author of Last Orders, Waterland and Mothering Sunday 'His archly modulated, precise prose, reminiscent at times of his friend Kazuo Ishiguro's, has lost none of its power ... immensely readable late-career Swift from start to finish, Twelve Post-War Tales is a marvel of the storyteller's art.' Financial Times'There can surely be no better contemporary writer to take on history's circularities that Graham Swift. ... "Growing up in the 1950s there was all the evidence of war." Swift has said. This beautiful cluster of stories shows how vital it remains in recollection.' Observer'Skilful, generous and humane, these 12 tales suggest the complexity and heartbreak of being engaged on such an uncertain journey.' Guardian'The characters in this collection share their thoughts and memories with the reader as though with a close friend, and the warmth of their confidences balances against their sadness. We feel we've been in the trenches with them, even when a story has gone no farther than the living room.' Wall Street Journal'These stories, depth charges of love, anguish, resentment, each in their way relating to the effects of WW2, are so good. Swift at his best - and he's on top form here - has the humanity and wry humour of William Trevor', Patrick Gale'Quite wonderful. Such grace and clarity - I'm filled with admiration', Philip Pullman In the aftermath of the Second World War Private Joseph Caan, a young Jewish soldier stationed in Germany, seeks the truth about lost family members; in the 1960s a father focuses on his daughter's wedding even as the Cuban Missile Crisis brings the world to the brink of disaster; in 2001, while planes fly into the Twin Towers, a maid working for US Embassy staff in London wonders if her birth on the day of the Kennedy assassination shaped her life; and at the height of a pandemic lockdown, Dr. Cole, a retired specialist in respiratory disease, returns to work and recalls a formative childhood encounter with illness and much more. These are just a few of the challenged characters we meet in Graham Swift's Twelve Post-war Tales. Tender, humane, funny and moving, Swift's latest work of fiction displays his quietly commanding ability to set the personal and the ordinary against the harsh sweep of history. It is an outstanding achievement, confirming his status as one of the great and subtlest voices of our age.

Twelve Post-War Tales

Martin Parr puts the world to rights in this comprehensive catalogue of five decades of his photographs, published to accompany a major exhibition at Jeu de Paume in Paris

For over fifty years Martin Parr has photographed the absurdities of the contemporary world, from the frenzy of over-consumption and the ravages of mass tourism to humanity’s increasing reliance on technology and our complex relationship with the animal kingdom.

By turns critical, satirical, surprising, and funny, Global Warning is published in association with Jeu de Paume to accompany a new major exhibition of Parr’s photography at the arts centre in Paris in January – May 2026.

Richly illustrated with more than 175 of his photographs, from his early black-and-white work in the raucous holiday parks and sleepy supermarkets of rural England to his more recent colour photography of bustling tourist attractions and must-see destinations from across the globe, Global Warning offers a reinterpretation of Martin Parr’s work and position in a time of widespread global disorder.

Featuring a tone-setting introduction by Quentin Bajac, director of Jeu de Paume, four further essays by Jean-François Staszak, Roberta Sassatelli, Violette Pouillard, and Adam Greenfield, experts in the fields of geography, sociology, wildlife conservation and urban design, put the selection of works into context and explore the important topics that seem immediately relevant to our everyday lives.

Showcasing many of Parr’s most renowned images alongside rarely published hidden gems, Global Warning presents more than five decades of incisive visual commentary from one of the world’s most celebrated photographers.
