Urban Contact Zones

Global trends as well as translocal exchanges and the everyday realities of local communities shape urban transformation. Turning to the idea of ¿contact zones¿, the contributors to this volume explore the spaces of encounters between agents of diverse perspectives and across different scales and boundaries. Through the lens of urban contact zones, they reflect on themes and projects of the Department of International Urbanism taking account of the past ten years and deliberating what is next in international urbanism. This volume offers a new perspective on diverse urban challenges to everyone engaged in urban research and design, policy discourse, and the development of transformative education.
