The book investigates the impact of recent policies and regulatory changes related to innovation on Indian organizations. The book keeps a sharp focus on tracking innovation-related public policy in India. Out of the three methods of looking into innovation (i.e., R&amp;D expenditure, patents, and innovation survey), it adopts the innovation survey method. An innovation survey that traces innovation over almost a decade is a novel contribution of the book. Additionally, using quantitative and qualitative methods in the study makes it more dynamic and robust. The book helps to identify both the quantitative and qualitative trends and patterns of innovation in India. The book adopts the survey method to trace and identify the impact of changing policies and regulations related to innovation in India for almost a decade (i.e., 2016, 2020, and 2023). The book uniquely covers not only Indian manufacturing and non-manufacturing firms (i.e., micro, small, medium, and large) but also startups, HEIs, and R&amp;D labs in its survey. The book is of interest to policymakers, academics, embassies, state-level government offices, researchers, and students.

Tracking Innovation Ecosystem in India

Das Buch befasst sich mit der Regulierung von Finanzinnovationen im Investmentfondsbereich. Zentrale Frage der Arbeit ist, ob Reallabore einen Beitrag zur Innovationsförderung im Investmentfondsbereich leisten können.
Zunächst behandelt das Werk das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Innovationsoffenheit und Regulierung im Finanzsektor und geht dabei auch auf die Reallabore ein, die in diesem Kontext eine nützliche Ergänzung zu den klassischen Regulierungsinstrumenten sein könnten. Darüber hinaus widmet sich die Arbeit dem Investmentaufsichtsrecht &nbsp;und legt dabei den Schwerpunkt auf die Rechtsfigur der Registrierung. Abschließend folgt eine Diskussion, ob sich Reallabore für den Investmentfondsbereich mit Blick auf Innovationsförderung eignen.

As life expectancy continues to rise and birthrates decline, nations around the world face unprecedented challenges in caring for aging populations. This book offers a comprehensive analysis of long-term care insurance systems—both public and private—and the evolving landscape of eldercare services across diverse countries.
Driven by three critical factors—the growing number of elderly individuals requiring intensive care, the need to eliminate "social hospitalization," and the escalating costs of medical care for seniors—governments have been compelled to rethink and restructure their approaches to long-term care. First, the rapid increase in average life expectancy has led to an increase in the number of bedridden elderly and those suffering from dementia, and the need for and importance of long-term care has grown. Second, it was necessary to eliminate "social hospitalization". Social hospitalization refers to a condition in which a patient is not in need of medical care but remains hospitalized in a medical institution for compelling reasons such as family circumstances. Third, medical costs for the elderly were increasing rapidly. It was necessary to control the increase in medical costs by separating medical care from long-term care.
Through comparative research and policy analysis, this book clarifies the distinct roles of public and private insurance models and offers actionable recommendations for sustainable and equitable care in aging societies. It is an essential resource for policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and anyone invested in the future of social welfare and eldercare.

This book argues for a comprehensive reframing of Friedrich Hayek, one of the most influential economic and social thinkers of the twentieth century. Its focus is on the role of legal philosophy and legislation in understanding Hayek's views on social and economic planning, and in particular his critique of socialism.
The book examines Hayek's later works on the shortcomings of legislation as the primary political tool used by governments to coerce otherwise free economic activity. It argues that Hayek's view of social and especially legal rules equates to a reformulation of his critique of planned economies, which has so far been understood in purely economic terms. The book argues&nbsp;that Hayek should be considered an important scholar in the realm of complexity theory, showing that his writing on intertwined legal and economic systems paved the way for a greater understanding of how individual agents and the 'spontaneous order' of the economy is inevitably regulated by the rational social order brought about by moral and legal rules and institutions. The book itself seeks to break the tradition of studying Hayek's work from isolated legal or economic lenses. 
Cyril Holm is an Associate Professor of Law at Karlstad University, Sweden. His academic background is in economics, the history of science and legal philosophy, the latter of which is currently his primary research interest. He has teaching and research experience at the interface of law, economics, complexity theory, technology and future studies.&nbsp;
