London, January 1943. Emmy and Charles celebrate their first anniversary apart as Charles is stationed overseas. They exchange lots and lots of letters and are doing their best in an entirely unpleasant situation. At Woman's Friend the magazine is going from strength to strength. The new readers' page, ?Woman's Friend to Friend', has been a huge hit. After two years in the job, there is no problem Emmy hasn't seen, and nothing she can't answer. Back in Pimlico, Bunty has opened the house up to women in need. Thelma from the fire station and her three children are living with them and the house is a noisy, cheerful place despite the fact the war rages on and things are very tight. Thelma and Emmy think it is time Bunty thought about men again, so they are in cahoots to set her up with someone. The girls take in two refugees, Lily and Petra, who came to Britain from Germany in 1938, managing to get out just in time. Lily and Petra are brilliant additions to the household but unfortunately this feeling is not shared by some of the neighbours and it falls on Emmy and Bunty to stick up for their new friends.

Rationierung ist mehr als nur Vorenthaltung. Im Rahmen staatlicher Zuteilung sind unter dem Thema Rationierung auch zuwendende Leistungsentscheidungen bei begrenzten Mitteln von Bedeutung, da sie zu Umverteilung führen. Die so verstandene Rationierung findet sich im System der GKV auf verschiedenen Entscheidungsebenen der gemeinsamen Selbstverwaltung vielfach wieder und folgt dabei bestimmten - bereits bekannten - Rationierungskriterien. Es stellen sich in Ansehung des Generationenwandels damit sowohl verfassungsrechtliche als auch moralphilosophische Fragen nach der Fortentwicklung und Anwendung dieser Rationierungsmechanismen, auch abseits der Entscheidung über Leben und Tod. Diesen Fragen nähert sich diese Arbeit.

Oneida Ltd. grew out of the commercial remains of the Oneida Community, which was a religious/social experiment founded in Oneida, New York. It was active from 1848 to 1881.John P. L. Hatcher, a great-grandson of one of the original community members and himself a longtime employee of Oneida Ltd., explores the history of the community and subsequent company in this robust history.The community and the company achieved great things—and neither should be forgotten. Upon the break up of the religious community, many of its members remained to continue businesses, including animal traps and the table flatware that would make Oneida Ltd. a household name.By the middle of the twentieth century, the company, then called Oneida Community Ltd., commanded twenty-five percent of the silver plated flatware market. The company kept true to the community’s social and wealth sharing ideals.But the dominant success of Oneida Ltd in the manufacturing of stainless steel flatware brought low cost foreign competition and the company was bankrupt in 2006. Based on this review, an attempt is made to quantify the economic impact of the recent floods in Pakistan. This will include not only the estimates emerging from the Damage Needs Assessment by the World Bank and ADB but also derivation of the second round multiplier effects on the GDP by use of the IPP MacroeconomicModel. In addition, an assessment will be made of the prospects for revival of growth.

Durch die Globalisierung des Wirtschaftslebens und die Integration des Binnenmarktes in der EU gelangen zahlreiche Fälle mit Auslandsbezug vor die Gerichte. In all diesen Fällen stellt sich die Frage der internationalen Zuständigkeit, die in der EU zumindest teilweise eine harmonisierte Regelung durch die Brüssel-Ia-Verordnung erfahren hat. Die endgültige Auslegung der Verordnung obliegt dem Europäischen Gerichtshof; für das Lauterkeitsrecht fehlt es aber bislang an konkretisierenden Entscheidungen. Als besonders problematisch stellt sich das bei den praktisch hochrelevanten Internetsachverhalten dar.
Vor diesem Hintergrund erschließt die Untersuchung zunächst die durch das materielle Lauterkeitsrecht geschützten Interessen sowie die abstrakten Zuständigkeitsinteressen der Prozessparteien. Auf Grundlage dieser Erkenntnisse erfolgt sodann, mit dem Schwerpunkt auf dem Gerichtsstand der unerlaubten Handlung, eine Auseinandersetzung mit den einschlägigen Gerichtsstandsnormen der Brüssel-Ia-Verordnung. Die Leitlinien der bestehenden Rechtsprechung des Europäischen Gerichtshofs werden kritisch analysiert und ihre Übertragbarkeit auf lauterkeitsrechtliche Streitigkeiten diskutiert. Die Untersuchung nimmt dabei alle lauterkeitsrechtlich relevanten Haftungs- und Verfahrenskonstellationen in den Blick, gelangt aber auch zu Ergebnissen, die über den Lauterkeitsprozess hinaus verwertbar sind. Insbesondere erörtert sie auch Möglichkeiten, drohende ausufernde Zuständigkeiten bei Internetsachverhalten und anderen Streudelikten zu begrenzen und unterbreitet dazu konkrete Lösungsvorschläge.
Die Arbeit schließt eine Lücke, die in den letzten Jahren durch die weitere Integration des Binnenmarktes, die dramatisch gestiegene Bedeutung des Internets sowie eine Reihe bedeutsamer Entscheidungen des Europäischen Gerichtshofs entstanden ist. Sie präsentiert umfassende, praxistaugliche Lösungen zur Bestimmung der internationalen Zuständigkeit in grenzüberschreitenden lauterkeitsrechtlichen Streitigkeiten, die für Wissenschaft und Praxis gleichermaßen von Bedeutung sind.

Das Lizenzkartellrecht, also die kartellrechtliche Inhaltskontrolle von Lizenzverträgen ist seit jeher Gegenstand lebhafter Diskussionen in Rechtsprechung und Lehre. Dies ergibt sich nicht nur dadurch, dass hier das Spannungsverhältnis von Immaterialgüterrecht und Kartellrecht besonders plastisch zum Tragen kommt, sondern auch, dass dieses Rechtsgebiet auch von besonderer Relevant für die Vertragspraxis ist. Anlass dieser Dissertation war die völlige Neufassung der bisherigen EG-Gruppenfreistellungsverordnung für Technologietransfer-Vereinbarungen VO 240/96, welche mit Wirkung zum 1. Mail 2004 durch die neue VO Nr. 772/04 abgelöst wurde. Der Verfasser untersucht insofern die Entwicklungen des Lizenzkartellrechts, als er die neue Verordnung einerseits mit der bisherigen Regelung und anderseits mit der Rechtslage in den USA vergleicht. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt hier dem Vergleich von in der Praxis häufig verwendeten, problematischen Vertragsklauseln.
