The Brighton Trunk Murders

In the summer of 1934 the bodies of two women were found in trunks at or near Brighton Central railway station. No one was convicted of either murder, which were committed by different men for different reasons. This is the first full length book to deal comprehensively with both of these murders at this well-known seaside resort. It draws on files from the National Archives, East Sussex Record Office along with contemporary newspapers to paint the most detailed portrait of the murders, the investigations, and the characters of those involved. It suggests how the police investigation into the first trunk murder could have been successful, and provides more information about the belated confessions of the second trunk murderer.
