Scenicruiser GX-2

The Story of Greyhound's Second Scenicruiser Prototype

Based on Paul von Fange's monumental book, Scenicruising: The Greyhound Scenicruiser Story, this book focuses on Greyhound's second post-war attempt in 1949 at a larger capacity highway cruiser called GX-2. Hand-built by Greyhound engineers in Chicago, its dramatic deck-and-a-half silhouette would become a visual icon. And its name, Scenicruiser, would grace the fleet to come. It sported windows in the roof, an 8-seat lounge in the rear with leather seats and a table, an on-board restroom and seated 43 passengers in panoramic splendor. Its success paved the way for the flagship of the fleet - the Greyhound Scenicruiser.
