Nach ersten Versuchen mit Punk und New Wave entwickelten die Simple Minds einen mitreißenden hymnischen Rock-Sound, wie ihn sonst höchstens noch U2 ablieferten, und konnten im Vorprogramm von Peter Gabriel erste internationale Erfahrungen sammeln.  40 Jahre später sind Jim Kerr und Charlie Burchill immer noch die treibende Kraft hinter den Simple Minds, die 2022 mit

Im Sommer 1982 führte Gilbert Furian mit sieben Ostberliner Punks Interviews über Punk und Politik, Musik und Liebe, Arbeit und Anarchie. Das Resultat, 20 Blatt A4, verteilte er 90x in Ost- und 1x in Westberlin. Ein Vergehen, das ihm schließlich eine Verurteilung zu 2 Jahren und 2 Monaten Gefängnis einbrachte. Dieses Buch dokumentiert die damaligen Gespräche, die folgenden Aktivitäten der Stasi und erneute Gespräche mit den Punks von damals - 18 Jahre später.
