Jack and the Beanstalk is a lively fairy tale picture book for toddlers, preschoolers and children starting school. Its read-aloud text and big, colourful pictures make it a gentle, exciting first adventure story to share at bedtime, in the nursery or in the classroom.

When Jack swaps the family cow for a handful of magic beans, nobody expects much. But the beans grow into an enormous beanstalk that disappears into the clouds. Brave Jack climbs all the way to the top and finds himself in the home of a very grumpy giant. Can he use his wits to outsmart the giant and get safely back down?

Children will love spotting details in the full-page illustrations and cheering Jack on as he climbs. Sharing the story together builds a calm, close storytime routine and helps young children practise listening, concentrate for longer and meet new words.
