'Instruments to Combat the Destruction of Unsold Consumer Goods. An analysis of the ¿duty of care¿ Regulations in the KrWG and EU Legal Endeavours': The study illuminates the issue of the destruction of unsold consumer goods by examining existing regulations set forth in the KrWG and the proposed new EU Ecodesign Regulation. Control instruments are developed and evaluated for their efficacy in preventing the destruction of goods, taking into account social science findings and fundamental rights aspects. The analysis demonstrates that the developed ¿duty of care¿ mechanism is more effective than prohibiting the destruction.
