Der vorliegende Band er-öffnet mit einer Sektion, welche den Ausgangspunkt für die Frage nach einer neuen Aktualisierung des Gewissensbegriffs bildet: Traumata der Coronazeit, in welcher es zu vielfältigen Konflikten zwischen Recht und Gewissen kam. Die zweite Sektion des Bandes befasst sich mit Darstel-lungen von Gewissen in der Literatur. Die dritte Sektion fragt nach der Herkunft des Gewissens, während die vierte und die fünfte Sektion sich mit Gewissen als Triebkraft von Widerstand und seiner Rolle in der Ge-sellschaft auseinandersetzen.
