'The Criminal Liability of Mafia-Type Organizations in Germany. On the Need of a Reform of §129 of the German Criminal Code in the Context of Combating Organized Crime, with a Comparative View of Italian Law': Criminal organizations with Italian roots have long been active in Germany. Lawmakers have hardly responded. In practice, § 129 of the German Criminal Code (StGB) is used, though it mainly targets politically motivated crime. The author compares German anti-organized crime laws with Italian legislation and examines whether the latter could serve as a model. Carai also presents her own practical reform proposals.
