'The Limits of Sharpness: Limitations on the Right of Self-Defense in German-Chinese Comparative Law': This thesis examines the limits of the ¿sharpness¿ of the right of self-defense in modern rule-of-law states. It addresses how the right of self-defense is justified and restricted. Central to this inquiry is the tension between autonomy and solidarity, rooted respectively in negative and positive freedom. A German-Chinese comparison highlights differing normative weightings and a growing convergence between the two legal systems.
