Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Business economics - Industrial Management, grade: 1.3, , language: English, abstract: Tesla Inc., formerly known as Tesla Motors, is an American automaker and energy storage company that specializes in producing electric vehicles (Evs), energy devices and photovoltaic panels. It was founded in 2003 by Martin Ebarhard and Marc Tarpenning, with Elon Musk as its chairman. With Palo Alto (California) as its headquarters, Tesla operates multiple production and assembly plants and large factories, with its main vehicle manufacturing facility in Fermont, Valifornia. Additionally, in 2016 Tesla acquired SolarCity with the aim of creating a company fully committed to sustainable energy, from energy generation and storage transportation. Current product portfolio of EV vehicles includes Model S, Model X, Model 3, Tesla Roadster, and Tesla Semi, while its energy storage devices include Tesla Powerwall, Tesla Powerpack, solar panels and soalr roofs.In this report, Tesla will be analyzed based on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. Next, the issues with the highest materiality will be benchmarked against its closest competitors. Finally, impacts for Tesla’s valuation will be identified and strategic implications will be discussed.

Doch im Gegensatz dazu, können bis heute keine, auf Fakten basierende, Aussagen in Bezug auf die Wirtschaftlichkeitsrechnung getroffen werden. Aufgrund des demografischen Wandels sowie fehlender Qualifikationen und IT-Kompetenzen der Mitarbeiter liegt seit geraumer Zeit eine anwachsende Fachkräfteproblematik vor. Da die Mitarbeiter von Morgen der Schlüssel zur Umsetzung von I4.0 sind, besteht hier dringender Handlungsbedarf. Ebenso stellen die derzeit noch fehlenden Standards, Konzepte und Geschäftsmodelle eine große Hürde zur erfolgreichen Umsetzung von I4.0 dar. Aus der rechtlichen Perspektive sind die Aspekte im Bereich des Datenschutzes, des Dateneigentums und der Datensicherheit aktuell nur bedingt klar geregelt. Im Bereich der IT-Sicherheit liegt ebenfalls noch eine unklare Situation vor, wie diese in der Welt der I4.0 gesichert werden soll.

Herausforderungen und Potenziale der Industrie 4.0 für die Produktion und die innerbetriebliche Logistik

Rund zwei Drittel der Gewinne sind auf diesen Bereich zurückzuführen. Gleichzeitig gewinnt der ökologische Gesichtspunkt immer mehr an Bedeutung. Das veränderte Bewusstsein der Konsumenten und die von der EU-Kommission festgelegten CO²-Grenzwerte zwingen die Hersteller auf verbrauchsärmere Antriebe zu setzen. Kontinuierliches Downsizing großer Verbrennungsmotoren, rein elektrische Fahrzeuge und die Konzepte an Plug-In-Hybridfahrzeugen untermauern die technologischen Möglichkeiten. Von einem Systemwechsel hin zur Elektromobilität ist mittlerweile sogar die Rede. Solch ein Systemwechsel wird auch zu disruptiven Veränderungen in der Automobilproduktion führen. So bietet der Einsatz ressourcen- und kostengünstiger Werkstoffe im Produktionsprozess bei Automobilen viele Chancen. Die stetige Weiterentwicklung sowie Anwendung von Leichtbaukonzepten wird zur obersten Leitmaxime in der Automobilproduktion. Steigende Emissionszahlen sowie größere Reichweiten bei BEV erfordern schlichtweg eineGewichtsreduktion der Fahrzeuge. Hierfür bietet der Einsatz neuer Werkstoffe gewaltige Entwicklungspotenziale, die auch zu Veränderungen der Fahrzeugarchitektur führen werden. All diese Einflussfaktoren sind eng verzahnt mit dem After-Sales Geschäft der Autohäuser. Konkrete Auswirkungen, die sich auf die Werkstatt- und Teileprozesse ergeben sind weitestgehend ungeklärt. Daher stellt sich folgende Kernfrage: Welche Auswirkungen ergeben sich durch neue Werkstoffe im Automobilbau auf die Teile- und Servicebereiche der Autohäuser?

This report describes on how to analyze the external and internal environment of the company by analytical frameworks. It starts with Company Background, where the company’s mission and current operations will be described. Next is the Environmental Analysis,  where a the SWOT analysis is applied for the company with consideration of Porter’s Five Forces model and Value Chain Analysis. Then, the paper identifies what the company’s current sustainable competitive advantages and its weakness are. Recommendation on how to tackle these weaknesses will be given afterwards.For a huge company like Volkswagen it takes a lot of effort to maintain their great brand reputation, to sustain that they have to make sure they fulfill the needs and wants of their customers and satisfy them. Although the brand portfolio includes brands like Skoda, Bugatti and Lamborghini the company still ranks high in the mind of customers. Even so having some problems in the automotive industry recently they must start looking forward and try finding solution as it might affect their brand image which can cause them huge loss and maintain the trust and build a relation among their customers as well. Die Forschungsfrage dieser Arbeit lautet: Gelingt es Porsche, trotz verschärfter Abgasnormen, leistungsstarke Motoren für ihre beliebte Modellserie 911 zu bauen? Es werden also die Motoren der einzelnen Modelle miteinander verglichen und Unterschiede, bezogen auf die Abgasnorm, festgestellt und analysiert.  Die Porsche 911 Serie hat sich seit ihrer Präsentation im September 1963 stark verändert, ist aber trotzdem vielen Traditionen treu geblieben. Im Inneren jedes 911ers findet man zum Beispiel die fünf nebeneinander angeordneten Armaturen, die seit dem ersten Modell des 911ers gleichgeblieben sind. Sie wurden lediglich vom Design etwas verändert. Das gleiche gilt auch für die Silhouette des Porsche. Wenn man sich das neuste Modell anschaut, erkennt man immer noch die Grundzüge des ersten Modells. Diese Tradition wollte Porsche auch bei seinen Motoren beibehalten. Man soll immer die Verbindung zu dem ersten Modell erkennen, gleichzeitig sollen die neuen Modelle aber auch stärker, schneller und effizienter werden. Das erwarten einerseits die Kunden, andererseits muss Porsche sich auch an eine Vielzahl Vorschriften halten. Eine dieser Vorschriften ist die Abgasnorm, die die Grenzwerte für die Luftschadstoffe, die ein Auto ausstößt, festlegt.

So hat die globale Gesundheitspandemie, ausgelöst durch die neue Form des Coronavirus, den Passagierluftverkehr aufgrund der hohen Infektionszahlen und des Ansteckungsrisikos auf Reisen, stillgelegt. Zwar konnte die Branche zeitweise eine partielle Wiederaufnahme des Streckenprogramms einleiten, dennoch sollte diese Maßnahme nur von kurzer Dauer sein. Infolgedessen kam es zu enormen Passagier- und Umsatzeinbrüchen. Diese Folgekette führte schließlich zu zahlreichen Insolvenzen oder enormen Staatshilfen, um die bedeutenden nationalen Fluggesellschaften vor der Zahlungsunfähigkeit zu schützen, weshalb jeder Bundesbürger in die aktuelle Situation involviert ist.

Master's Thesis from the year 2012 in the subject Business economics - Industrial Management, grade: 110/110, University of Siena, course: Industrial economy, language: English, abstract: It has been more than two decades since internet boosted its potential and now it can be considered a fearful competitor of many mortal businesses such as retailers, advertisers or even intermediaries. It is also known that the advent of internet in our daily life has also changed many systems’ structures such as the transaction costs in B2B, B2C or even the C2C models. Internet has abolished geographical boundaries, connected people and facilitated information flow. We now live in a world that everything happens in real time, which also brought changes in economic equilibriums, marketing strategies as well as speculation margins. Amazon, Google, EBay has revolutionized the custom of traditional shopping, increasing consumer’s addiction to consumption by differentiating products in every possible and imaginable manner. Well, this work’s attempt is to shed a light on the dynamics of this evolution, to acknowledge the main players and see how equilibrium can be set and re-set incessantly in a very volatile market due to its lack of physicality (i.e there is a physical gap between supplier and demander at the purchasing moment, therefore is very difficult to build customer loyalty). The example used to extrapolate some statistical evidence is linked to group buying e-commers such as coupon companies.  It is the case of Groupon.com, the daily offers company with the highest growth rate among web companies since 2008 . The first part of the study is a theoretical literature review mainly arranged to give a theoretical backup to the empirical analysis that will follow. It seems that there has been a lot of field research on the topic. I suppose the reason is the worryingly fast growing pattern of these virtual business realities. The first chapters aims to concatenate the main features of these new business models, trying to understand the differences between them and the traditional ones which offer the same products or services- also the reasons why “normal” firms are greatly suffering market share losses. The third chapter instead is totally dedicated to online intermediaries since they seem to be the economic agents to have better fit in this new giant virtual marketplace. Different types of intermediaries obviously play different roles in the business arena and also provoke different welfare effects in terms of costumer’s wellbeing. For such reasons the interesting part here is their game strategy while intermediating either information or services.

Weiter sollen die Auswirkungen auf die inländische Automobilindustrie näher beleuchtet werden.Seit einigen Jahren wird nun prognostiziert, dass die Elektromobilität einen immensen Einfluss auf die deutsche Automobilindustrie haben wird. Doch was ist bis heute davon zu sehen? Schaut man sich die Elektrofahrzeugneuzulassungen in Deutschland an, so wird schnell deutlich, dass sich hier entgegen der Erwartungen noch nicht allzu viel getan hat. Sicher lassen sich vereinzelnd Elektrofahrzeuge und hybride Fahrzeuge auf den Straßen finden, doch das Straßenbild ist weiterhin stark von PKWs mit Verbrennungsmotoren geprägt. Das ambitionierte Ziel der Bundesregierung bis 2020 eine Million Elektrofahrzeuge auf deutschen Straßen zu etablieren, konnte nicht erreicht werden. Klimapolitische Ziele, der Ausbau einer elektromobilfreundlichen Infrastruktur und die Endlichkeit fossiler Ressourcen steigern jedoch zunehmend das Verlangen und die Attraktivität von Elektromobillösungen.

The paper begins with an overview of the current housing market situation in berlin. The development of the demand for housing and the supply of housing is presented and then put into context. The third chapter deals with the berlin rent cap. First, the legal basis is explained before the legal assessment of the rent cover is carried out. In a first step, the formal constitutionality of the law is examined. Then the material constitutionality regarding the compatibility of the rent cap with Art. 14 and 3 GG is analysed. In the following, possible economic effects of the rent cap are presented and supplemented by an overview of empirical data from studies on rent control. The fourth chapter deals with social housing. As in the second chapter, the current situation in this residential segment in berlin is presented first. Subsequently, social housing is examined as a form of investment. In this context, the reluctance of private investors to invest in affordable housing is discussed and conditions are explained under which construction activity in social housing could be increased in a way that is worthwhile for investors and society. The aim of this work is to examine which interventions in the berlin housing market with the intention of increasing affordable living space are being carried out by the Berlin state government and how these are to be assessed against the background of the resulting opportunities and risks for investors and society as a whole.

Die vorliegende Master Thesis hat als Zielsetzung, dafür eine Markteintrittsstrategie zu entwickeln. Dabei werden zunächst theoretische Grundlagen zu Timingstrategien dargestellt. Hier wird die Frage beantwortet, welche Chancen, Risiken und Strategiemöglichkeiten ein Später Folger für einen Markteintritt hat. Die Erkenntnis ist, dass der Späte Folger einem hohem Markteintrittsrisiko ausgesetzt ist, da er sich gegen Pioniere und Frühe Folger mit ihren aufgebauten Markteintrittsbarrieren behaupten muss. Es wird jedoch herausgearbeitet, dass der Unternehmenserfolg nicht nur von der Markteintrittsreihenfolge allein abhängt, sondern von der jeweiligen Marktcharakteristik und den eigenen Unternehmensressourcen. Die praktischen Ergebnisse aus der Branchenanalyse nach Porter und einer Bewertung der Unternehmensressourcen mit dem VRIO-Ansatz zeigen auf, dass ein Markteintritt nicht risikolos ist – ANONYM jedoch gute Chancen und Kernkompetenzen hat, in den Markt einzutreten. Aufbauend auf den Analyse-Ergebnissen kann der Firma ANONYM für einen Markteintritt eine „Imitationsstrategie“ und eine „Strategie des Mitläufers“ empfohlen werden.

Many have described the ISO 9000 as a one size fits all standards because of their universality to apply in all industries. Despite its applicability in all industries, there are concerns on ISO 9000 quality management system adoption especially in the developing economies which is slow, and one of the cited reasons for its slow adoption is lack of awareness and also initiatives to apply it. Currently, most of the businesses and manufacturing companies have taken a great initiative to register for ISO 9000 or in industry-specific version including ISO 9000:2000, AS 9100, QS 9000 or ISO 14000. According to the Geneva-based international organization for standardization (ISO), all ISO 9000:1914 companies need to re-certify under the current standards ISO 9000:2000. On that note, Pakistan who is a member of ISO is taking the necessary measures to upgrade its standards to meet the current ISO 9000:2000 standards (Hayat, 2003).ISO 9000 is beneficial to organizations because it acts as a tool or strategy to enhance their performance in the global market as they certify the standards on quality management when producing their goods and services in the market both domestically and internationally. The certification with ISO standards, therefore, becomes a prerequisite for the firm’s survival in the market thus increasing its use in most of the firms in Pakistan and across the globe.On that note, the article takes a critical analysis on ISO 9000 different practices including the use of ISO 9000 in international markets, top management support, consultancy, role of training, critical success factors, the next step after ISO 9000 has been certified, cost of certification, impacts of ISO 9000, the benefits to be gained, some of the problems faced before, during and after the adoption process, its current status, its future prospects, and some of the general practices as evident in Pakistan sports industry. The article has intensively identified several case studies which explain the current status of ISO 9000 and its existing practices in the sports industry.
