Achievements in the Agri-Food Supply Chain Leading to Sustainable Foods IV

The food industry has significantly expanded and become globalized due to the growth of many countries' economies and an increasing world population; consequently, it is facing major sustainability challenges. In this fourth volume of Special Issues on AFSCs, contributions are centered on "sustainable foods" at the end of the chain and all the intermediary parameters that lead to them. Creativity, knowledge, research and technology, financial resources, and innovation across all aspects of the chain are welcome within the context of achieving sustainable food. Particular emphasis is placed on research contributions and reviews on the sustainability of the food chain that draw on results and achievements in innovative pathways and foods, food safety, new technologies, food processes, consumer perceptions of foods, etc. The contributions also include research topics on innovative food solutions tackling environmental issues, conservation, and climate change and crisis. In this fourth special edition, three subjects related to achievements in Agri-Food Supply Chains (AFSCs) that have led to sustainable foods are presented across 10 published papers. These include state-of-the-art approaches for:Sustainable AFSCs; Consumer and stakeholder perceptions of foods; Use of innovative natural ingredients for food production processes.
