Es enthält knapp 50 Beiträge zu Grundlagen der Viktimologie, spezifischen Deliktsphänomenen aus Opfersicht, zur Viktimisierung bestimmter Personengruppen und Kontexte sowie zu Opferinteressen und dem Opferschutz. Das Handbuch richtet sich an Wissenschaftler:innen, Praktiker:innen und Studierende aus den Bereichen der Kriminologie, Soziologie, Psychologie, Rechtswissenschaft, Polizei und der Sozialen Arbeit.
Die Viktimologie, die Lehre vom Opfer, hat sich über die vergangenen Jahrzehnte stark entwickelt – von einer Randbetrachtung der Kriminologie und Strafrechtsjustiz hin zu einem umfangreichen Forschungs- und Praxisbereich. Neben theoretischen Grundlagen und differenzierenden Begrifflichkeiten ist das viktimologische Feld inzwischen vor allem durch eine breite Forschungslandschaft in Form von Viktimisierungsstudien geprägt. In den letzten Jahren wurden zudem eine Reihe von (gesetzlichen) Neuregelungen auf den Weg gebracht, nicht zuletzt hinsichtlich des Opferschutzes und der Opferhilfe. Das vorliegende Handbuch enthält Beiträge zu diesen unterschiedlichen Aspekten der Viktimologie.

Die Herausgeberinnen
Prof. Dr. Gina Rosa Wollinger ist Professorin an der Hochschule für Polizei und öffentliche Verwaltung NRW und lehrt dort Soziologie und Kriminologie. Sie ist im wissenschaftlichen Beirat des Deutschen Präventionstags, des Bundeskriminalamts und des WEISSEN RINGS.

Prof. Dr. Ulrike Zähringer ist Professorin für Kriminologie und Strafrecht an der Hochschule in der Akademie der Polizei Hamburg. Sie ist Mitglied des Forschungsbeirats des Bundeskriminalamts.
