Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Motiv Behinderung innerhalb des Jesajabuches und welche (ethischen) Auswirkungen dieses Motiv auf unser heutiges Verständnis von Behinderung besitzt. Gerade das Jesajabuch besitzt eine wirkungsreiche Rezeption in Theologie, Kirche und allgemein in unserer Gesellschaft, die auch unser gegenwärtiges Bild von Menschen mit Behinderungen prägt. In dieser Arbeit wird daher ein Dreischritt vollzogen. Im ersten Schritt werden alle Texte des Jesajabuches historisch kritisch analysiert, in denen körperliche Behinderungen explizit erwähnt werden. In einem zweiten Schritt beleuchtet die Autorin die Darstellungsformen von Behinderung auf einer ethischnarrativen und einer metaphorischen Ebene und zieht dazu Ansätze der Disability Studies und der Kognitiven Literaturwissenschaften heran. In einem dritten Schritt werden die Ergebnisse schließlich mit gegenwärtigen medizin, bio und sozialethischen Debatten in Bezug gesetzt.
