Concept of Islamic Law - Foundations of Sharia Philosophy

This book presents a critical and philosophical analysis of Islamic law (Sharia), focusing on its legal structure. The work argues that Islamic jurisprudence should be understood as a human interpretive endeavour, shaped by its historical and social contexts rather than as a fixed divine code. The book is organised into two chapters and a conclusion:Chapter One presents the foundational perspectives on Islamic law, examining both traditional and rational approaches and clarifies their practical implications. Chapter Two offers a critical reassessment of the traditional concept of Islamic law, arguing that it no longer adequately addresses the complexities and challenges of the modern world. The conclusion synthesises the key findings and proposes a new interpretive framework for understanding and applying Islamic law in today's context.
