The Effects of Religion and Politics on Family Businesses

Bei den Überlegungen, die zu der symbiotischen Beziehung zwischen Friedrich Nietzsche und Franz Overbeck angestellt wurden, wer nämlich wen mehr beeinflusst habe, scheint die Antwort klar: Overbeck, dem es anders als Nietzsche an ruhmsüchtigem Ehrgeiz "bis zum Defekt mangelte", erscheint als der unselbstständige Adept seines jüngeren, genialischen Freundes. Die vorliegende Arbeit vertritt die gegenteilige Überzeugung, dass es vielmehr Overbeck war, der aufgrund seiner überlegenen Gelehrsamkeit die Agenda in dem nie abreißenden Gespräch zwischen den beiden Freunden vorgegeben hat. Wo in der Religionskritik Nietzsche draufsteht, ist Overbeck drin. Von den ersten beiden "Unzeitgemäßen Betrachtungen" Nietzsches bis zu seiner plagiierenden Spätschrift "Der Antichrist" sind die denkerischen Einflüsse Overbecks überall erkennbar, die auf der Folie intertextueller Vergleiche mit den bahnbrechenden theologischen Werken der Zeitgenossen Adolf von Harnack, Ernst Troeltsch sowie Julius Wellhausen in ein neues Licht gerückt werden und bis dahin Unsichtbares sichtbar machen.

Der Einfluss Franz Overbecks in der Religionskritik auf Friedrich Nietzsche

Geschlecht ist gerade heiß umkämpft. Vor allem, wenn es um Fragen geht, wie selbstbestimmt Geschlecht, aber auch Sexualität sein können. Insbesondere Trans steht in Deutschland seit dem Selbstbestimmungsgesetz im Zentrum kontroverser Debatten. 
Das 2024 verabschiedete Gesetz ersetzt die biologische Grundlage des Geschlechts vollständig durch subjektive Identität und gerät deshalb in Konflikt mit Schutzräumen für Frauen, die bisher auf biologischer Definition basierten. Auch Kinder und Jugendliche werden gefährdet, indem unter dem Paradigma des selbstbestimmten Geschlechts irreversible medizinische Maßnahmen eingeleitet werden, obwohl die Risiken nicht ausreichend geklärt sind. Doch die gesellschaftliche Debatte ist polarisiert. Jede Kritik am Selbstbestimmungsparadigma wird verdächtigt, gegen Menschenrechte gerichtet zu sein.
Dieser Sammelband will zeigen, dass dieser Pauschalverdacht nicht hilfreich ist und zu einer differenzierten Debatte einladen.

Geschlecht – eine Debatte und ihr Ausnahme*Zustand

Schriften zur Märchen-, Mythen- und Sagenforschung

Es wird in diesem Buch nachgewiesen, dass dem gesamten Mahabharata das Königsritual in der Form des Rajasuyas unterliegt - als Grundlage des Geschehens sowohl wie der Artung und der Verteilung der Personen. Die Einstellung des Epikers zum Rajasuya ist jedoch die einer ablehnenden Kritik. Ganz wie es im Ramayäa an entscheidender Stelle ausgesprochen wird, ist es die Überzeugung des Epikers, dass der Rajasuya ein gefährliches Ritual ist und dass er infolge dämonischer Störungen zur Vernichtung des Kriegerstandes führen könne. Einen solchen durch dämonische Einflüsse entgleisenden Rajasuya stellt er also in Gestalt der epischen Begebenheiten dar, und zwar ergibt sich der Fehlverlauf aus einem nicht durchgeführten Apotropaion. Das Modellhafte des Entwurfes zeigt sich vor allem in der Fünfzahl der Pä¿avas. Denn da es in der Königsweihe ebenso wie in der epischen Kritik der Königsweihe um Wesen und Werden des Königs geht, so gliedert der Epiker die Königsperson in fünf beispielhafte Funktionen auf und legt an ihnen das Wechselspiel von Königsartung und Königsweihe bloß. Das Hauptkennzeichen für die Einheit der Königsperson ist die Einzahl der Königsgattin, die bisher unerklärte, nur scheinbare Polyandrie der Draupadi.
Die episch-rituellen Parallelen werden im Einzelnen nachgewiesen. Als das entscheidende, sowohl rituelle wie epische Geschehen muss die Schwächung des Königs unter der Salbung angesehen werden und sein Wiedererstarken durch die folgenden Begehungen. Im Epos sind dies die Unternehmungen der Waldzeit mit dem Viräajahr als einer zusammenfassenden embryonalen Phase. Die Wiedergeburt des Königs, seine Epiphanie stellt sich im Goharäa dar, das der rituellen Fahrt in die Kuhherde entspricht. Die große Schlacht nimmt das rituelle Motiv des Würfelspieles wieder auf, das die gewonnene Königsmacht unter Beweis stellt, diesmal als gewinnendes Spiel des Pä¿avakönigs. Indessen, - gemäß der eingangs angebahnten Fehlentwicklung des Rituals pervertiert ihr Ablauf den auf Rechtschaffenheit gerichteten Willen des Königs und zwingt ihm bestimmt geartete Entschlüsse auf, die von Schlachtabschnitt zu Schlachtabschnitt den Weltzeitcharakter um eine Stufe gegen den allgemeinen Untergang hin herabsetzen. Das Gesetz dieses unausweichlich gewordenen Verlaufes stellt sich dem König dar in Gestalt der höchsten Gottheit selber, die als Lenker auf dem Kampfwagen seiner indraischen Funktion platznimmt und das Verhängnis seines Handelns in Worte fasst. Die vier Teilschlachten bedeuten also die Weltalter; die an den Kurumarschällen begangenen Totschläge sind vier exemplarische Untaten, die jeweils die nächstniedere Weltzeit initiieren. Die Mordnacht Asvatthamans bedeutet die Weltennacht.
Dass der Rajasuya als augenscheinliches Paradigma des Gedichtes in Vergessenheit geriet, wie es scheint, - hat seine Ursache in dem großen religiösen Umschwung, der das Mahabharata als Werk der Ritualkritik selbst hervorgebracht hat, der sich in seinen lehrhaften Teilen unmittelbar ausspricht, der aber auch das Interesse und die Vorliebe seiner Bewunderer auf andere seiner mannigfachen Vorzüge ausgerichtet hat.

Using an interdisciplinary approach, the author offers a rich analysis of the competing discourses on blasphemy in Indonesia. The work bridges the literatures of law and other social sciences. Providing an updated analysis of Indonesian blasphemy laws, this book also aims to shed light on the dynamics of legal order that affect how and why such laws exist. Rather than merely documenting regulations on and cases of blasphemy, the study aims to further understand the operation of law as a reflection of power relations.
