Today's techno-oligarchs are not concerned with saving the planet; rather, they have accepted the end of progress and are focused on safeguarding their wealth in the face of an impending political and ecological collapse. Artificial intelligence and algorithms make decisions for us. Climate breakdown has long steamed past the wreckage of the Paris Agreement. Perhaps the accelerationists have the right idea.
