Nach dem Angriff der Hamas auf Israel am 7.  Juden konnten in der islamischen Welt als "Schutzbefohlene" über Jahrhunderte weitgehend unbehelligt leben. Erst seit der Kolonialzeit hat sich unter dem Einfluss antisemitischer Traktate aus dem Westen, durch die Zuwanderung von Juden nach Palästina und schließlich die Gründung des Staates Israel ein muslimischer Antisemitismus herausgebildet. Hunderttausende Juden wurden in den 1940er und 1950er Jahren aus islamischen Ländern vertrieben. Der muslimische Antisemitismus äußert sich heute vor allem in einem Hass auf Israel, das als Inbegriff westlicher Kolonialherrschaft gilt. Omar Kamil beschreibt konzise diese Entwicklungen. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf dem muslimischen Antisemitismus in westlichen Ländern. Nicht zuletzt geht es um die Frage, was getan werden kann - und bisher versäumt wurde -, um den Antisemitismus einzuhegen und ihm den Nährboden zu entziehen.
