Code of Federal Regulations, Title 41 Public Contracts and Property Management

Title 41 sets forth practices of wage determination, health and safety standards, regulations governing purchase from people who are blind or severely disabled, and employment practices expected of federal contractors. The system for property management covers inventories, management and use of records, acquisition, construction and alteration of public buildings. Procurement of products, management and use of telecommunications resources, management of means of transportation and travel expenditures and reimbursement are included as well. Additions and revisions to this section of the code are posted annually by July. Publication follows within six months.

Das Vereinigte Königreich setzte diesen Appell im Jahr 2000 mit Einrichtung des "Spoliation Advisory Panel" (SAP) um, das seither einen Streitbeilegungsmechanismus bietet, um auf die Ansprüche Berechtigter zu reagieren. Dieser Band nimmt die 22 Empfehlungen in den Blick, die das Panel bislang ausgesprochen hat. Die Entscheidungen werden vor dem Hintergrund der englischen Rechtstradition und -praxis sowie der historischen Rolle des Vereinigten Königreichs analysiert, systematisiert und einem abstrakten Regelwerk zugeführt. Die so sichtbar gemachte Entscheidungslinie des SAP kann als Diskussions- und Vergleichsgrundlage für die Restitutionspraxen anderer Staaten herangezogen werden.

Mitali Thakor argues that CSAM has come to be framed as primarily a digital problem, to be resolved digitally, thereby unleashing a new form of corporatized policing helmed by global technology companies. Ambitious in scope, this multi-sited global ethnography draws on four years of original fieldwork and interviews with technology companies in the US, the United Nations in Bangkok, Thai and Dutch NGOs, and law enforcement in the US and the Netherlands. The book argues that in the 2010s, a network of technology companies, NGOs, and law enforcement created the notion of a “virtual child” in need of techno-solutionist saving to justify a vast expansion of surveillance technologies. The book examines how pervasive myths of child abuse online were exploited to serve the aims of seemingly disparate groups, from Christian neo-abolitionists to NGOs conducting virtual sting operations. It is this complex relationship between the care and securitization needed to fix the child victim as an object of data, concern, and rescue that the book explores.

Proceeding from Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, this examination plots how memory laws have preceded, partially led to, and encouraged the outbreak of the war itself via Russian propaganda. It also offers a broader perspective looking at developments in the Baltic States, Belarus, Finland, Germany, Hungary, and Poland, as well as in European (Council of Europe and European Union) law.
