The Regulatory Landscape of Transnational Corporations
Embracing its Complexity by Adopting a Transnational Perspective
This thesis addresses the contemporary issue of regulating transnational corporations with regard to human rights and environmental standards. In recent years, a number of very different regulatory initiatives have emerged in this regulatory area. In the Swiss context, the rejected Responsible Business Initiative is noteworthy. Against this background, this thesis adopts a conceptual as well as theoretical approach: The complex existing regulatory landscape is mapped from the perspective of transnational law in order to develop concrete proposals for future regulatory initiatives.
