This conference proceedings is for the International Conference on Green Policies and Practices: Catalyst or Pressure for Trade and Investment. The conference was organized on 22nd and 23rd November 2024 at University of Economics and Business, Vietnam National University - Hanoi. The conference is the 12th in the series of annual Conferences on International Economic Cooperation and Integration (CIECI), initiated in 2013 by the VNU-UEB. The theme of the conference, "Green Policies and Practices: Catalyst or Pressure for Trade and Investment", reflects one of the most pressing debates of our time: the balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability. China Perspectives

This book systematically examines how the digitalization of global value chains (GVCs) has driven the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry. It reveals the intrinsic mechanisms and pathways through which digital technologies reshape the international division of labor and promote industrial upgrading.Integrating theory with empirical analysis, the book establishes an innovative measurement framework for GVC digitalization. Using data from China's manufacturing sectors from 2000 to 2020, the book evaluates the quality of industrial development across five dimensions: innovation, coordination, green development, openness, and sharing. The book provides an in-depth analysis of the characteristics, challenges, and multidimensional impacts of Chinese manufacturing's integration into digital GVCs. Using rigorous econometric models, the study demonstrates that digitalization primarily advances high-quality manufacturing development through three channels: reducing transaction costs, fostering technological innovation, and optimizing resource allocation. Mehr als 30 Jahre lang wurde Leasing durch den Standard IAS 17 geregelt. IAS 17 unterschied dabei vor allem nach Operating-Leasing und Finanzierungsleasing. Dabei wurde beim Leasingnehmer ein Operating-Leasing bilanzneutral, das heißt ohne Auswirkungen auf die Bilanz dargestellt. Über verschiedene Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten ergab sich damit für den Bilanzierenden durchaus die Möglichkeit, Leasing-Verhältnisse so zu gestalten, dass sie nicht in die Bilanz aufgenommen werden mussten. Als Reaktion auf die Kritik an diesen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten hat der IASB bereits im Jahr 2006 eine Reform der Leasingbilanzierung angestoßen. Das Ergebnis ist der 2016 veröffentlichte IFRS 16. Dieser Standard unterscheidet nicht mehr zwischen Operating-Leasing und Finanzierungsleasing. Stattdessen wird für alle Leasingverhältnisse ein Nutzungsrecht und eine entsprechende Verbindlichkeit erfasst. IFRS 16 ist verpflichtend auf Jahresabschlüsse für Geschäftsjahre anzuwenden, die nach 31.12.2018 beginnen. Die Reform der Leasingbilanzierung wird eine erhebliche Herausforderung für nach IFRS bilanzierende Unternehmen darstellen. Dieses Buch bereitet die Bilanzierenden auf die anstehende Standardänderung optimal vor und bietet sichere Unterstützung bei der Umsetzung der neuen Normen. Hierfür werden die bilanzrechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen anhand von Abbildungen, Übersichten und Beispielen veranschaulicht und konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen gegeben, die dem Bilanzersteller helfen, die zum Teil komplexen Regelungen im Einzelfall in der Praxis umzusetzen. Besonderes Augenmerk wird aber auch auf ausgewählte Spezialthemen (zum Beispiel Sale-and-lease-back-Transaktionen, Subleases, et cetera) und Schnittstellenthemen gelegt. Ein Herzstück des Buches ist die Ableitung und Darstellung eines Konzepts für die Aufbau- und Ablauforganisation eines Prozesses zur Erfassung von Leasingverträgen nach dem neuen IFRS. Hierbei stehen für den Bilanzierungserfolg zentrale Themen wie die Organisation der Datengewinnung und die Analyse des Vertragsportfolios im Vordergrund. Unterstützende Checklisten erhöhen die Praxistauglichkeit noch zusätzlich.

This is the first book to present a new approach of institutional design as an evolutionary applied policy based on coherent conceptualization and methodology, and to study the actuality and implications of diversifying real/virtual community currencies. In contrast to a de facto standard theory, an institutional ecosystem can be composed of various institutions that continue to coexist with changing relative frequencies. In this view, diversified monetary institutions with local rules are feasible and realistic. Community currencies are worldwide attempts to redress such problems as financial instability, chronic stagnation, and decline of communities caused by globalization of the economy. Considering those alternative movements as a new type of policy, "evolutionist institutional design", this book clarifies the feasibility and significance of community currencies in the current era of globalization. The book also provides a better understanding than mainstream approaches of such platform institutions as money that determine fundamental means of cognition and action of interacting agents. Money is a symbolically generalized communication medium in the mesodomain that mediates between socioeconomic performance and patterns in the macrodomain and motives and cognitive frameworks in the microdomain. Conventional national systems of money and finance are platform institutions that determine basic replicators for a capitalistic market economy to evolve. In contrast, community currencies conveying both economic and social/cultural values are distinct platform institutions that are expected to endogenously change such basic replicators in outer and inner institutions for agents to a noncapitalistic market economy. These currencies are considered target institutions for "media design" in the framework of evolutionist institutional design.
