This book, the second of two volumes, offers a comprehensive guide to the blue economy and the economic activity of African coastal communities. It brings together a broad range of topics, from local policymaking to marine conservation, that enable sustainable growth in African marine economics. The requirements for achieving sustainable development in Africa are outlined, with a particular focus on education, economic integration, coastal ecosystems, resource governance, financial inclusion, indigenous knowledge systems, and local leadership.
