Persil, Pril, Pritt - 150 Jahre Henkel 
 
 Persil, Ata, Pril, Somat, Pritt ? viele Marken, die zum Unternehmenskosmos von Henkel gehören, sind seit Jahrzehnten fester Bestandteil des Alltagslebens. Nur wenigen jedoch dürfte die vielschichtige und wandlungsreiche Geschichte bekannt sein, die sich hinter dem Namen Henkel verbirgt. Joachim Scholtyseck zeichnet den Weg dieses zunächst für Deutschland und heute weltweit bedeutsamen Unternehmens seit 1876 erstmals umfassend auf wissenschaftlicher Grundlage nach und zeigt, wie sich Henkel vom Waschmittelhersteller zum Weltkonzern wandelte, der heute insbesondere im Bereich Klebstoffe weltweit führend ist. 
 
 Henkel ist ein Kind des frühen Kaiserreichs und profitierte vom wirtschaftlichen Aufstieg des jungen deutschen Nationalstaats. Der steigende Lebensstandard der Bevölkerung erhöhte die Nachfrage nach Konsumgütern des täglichen Bedarfs, die das Unternehmen mit seinem schnell wachsenden Waschmittelgeschäft bedienen konnte. 1876 von Fritz Henkel in Aachen gegründet, expandierte das Unternehmen rasch und verlegte seinen Hauptstandort 1878 nach Düsseldorf, wo sich noch heute der Hauptsitz befindet. 1907 kam das revolutionäre Waschmittel Persil auf den Markt, das auf innovative Weise beworben wurde und für das Unternehmen einen Quantensprung bedeutete. Bis heute dürfte es die bekannteste Marke sein, mit der Henkel weithin verbunden wird. Doch das war schon Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts eine Verkürzung des vielseitigen Unternehmens. Joachim Scholtyseck fragt nach den Erfolgsfaktoren, die aus dem Aachener Start-up eine florierende Firma machten, arbeitet die Rolle der Firma im Dritten Reich auf und zeigt, wie aus dem Waschmittelproduzenten ein Weltunternehmen wurde.

Master's Thesis from the year 2024 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1,3, University of Münster, language: English, abstract: This master thesis investigates the impact of patent activity on the financial performance of startups, with a particular emphasis on revenue growth. Using a fixed effects Generalized Least Squares (GLS) regression model, the research analyzes how fluctuations in the number of patents correlate with revenue growth across various industries, countries, and time periods. Contrary to the initial hypothesis, the findings indicate that patent activity often has a statistically significant negative effect on revenue growth. While some positive effects are observed at industry and country levels, they are overshadowed by the overall negative trend. The study highlights the necessity for further research to assess delayed patent effects, the quality of patents, and additional external business factors influencing startup success.

Generating Long-Term Success of Traditional Industrial Companies in Fast-Changing Times
