This book offers a comprehensive introduction to the RISC-V RVV extension and its integration with LLVM-based compilers. Given the limited information currently available on RVV and its support in modern compilers, this book fills a crucial gap. This book examines the role of the prison in the commissioning and delivery of theatre practice. It draws attention to discourses of publicly acceptable arts and other mechanisms of ‘soft power’ which shape access to prison theatre. Each chapter utilises engaging storytelling methods based on the authors own experience as a prison theatre practitioner to illustrate theory. The book explores understandings of the value of arts in prison and discuss how, in a neoliberal society, people in prison can be conceptualised as ‘deserving’ or ‘undeserving’ of these practices. It examines the role of the arts organisation in designing and delivering commissionable arts practice and in caring for both practitioners and participants. It also discusses the role of the university and the facilitator in delivering work that balances the often-conflicting agendas of the prison, the arts organisation and the participants alongside their own aims within a context of precarious employment. Finally, it examines the experience of participating in prison theatre, exploring incidents of care, interdependency and collective joy within the prison and assessing how, through the delivery of short-term and insecurely funded arts projects, prison theatre can produce experiences of both hope and harm.

The proclamation of the Republic of Austria on November 12, 1918 also led to a change in the status of the court theaters. At the end of November, the state administration took over the two theatres and transferred them from the imperial court arsenal to the budget of the young republic. Even the changing address of the Burgtheater shows the political upheavals: the "Franzensring", the official address of the Hofburgtheater, becomes the "Ring des 12. November". The "k. k. Hofburgtheater", as it is still referred to in the golden inscription on the building, swapped its imperial address for a republican one. Its role in representing the ruling dynasty and the multicultural monarchy was no longer relevant, so it had to be redefined. What does the government hope to achieve by continuing to run the Burgtheater? How does it envisage the relationship between the state and the theatre? What role does it ascribe to the theatre in developing republican civil society? The answers to these questions will determine the future of the former court theatres in the First Republic. The role of the Burgtheater as 'erstes deutschsprachiges Theater' in shaping Austrian self-perception is critically examined based on source material. The administrative background to the takeover of the court theatres by the Republic's administration, and the debates surrounding the Burgtheater's role and position during changes in management and the production of controversial works, are discussed in the context of theatre, collective memory, and the construction of cultural identities.

Das Burgtheater in der Ersten Republik

For John Waters, Jack Smith was "the only true underground filmmaker"; theater director Richard Foreman called him "the hidden source of practically everything of interest in experimental American theater" - Jack Smith inspired Laurie Anderson, Robert Wilson, Cindy Sherman, Nan Goldin, and trans artist Anohni, among others. He collaborated with musicians such as John Zorn and was a key figure in the development of New York's queer and drag underground performances from the 1960s to the 1980s. Smith's art and lifestyle influenced German experimental filmmakers Wilhelm and Birgit Hein and artists Katharina Sieverding and Klaus Mettig, among others; his queer performance aesthetic made him an important reference point for critical writings on the phenomenon of camp, from Susan Sontag to Diedrich Diederichsen and philosopher Juliane Rebentisch.
The majority of his written work, which includes fascinating, disturbing, and hilarious writings, performance texts, and essays on film and art, pornographic fantasies, manifestos, and statements, is now being published in German for the first time.

With contributions by Bertolt Brecht's son Stefan Brecht, Smith researcher Jim Hoberman, Jonas Mekas, and Susan Sontag; plus photos and documents chronicling Smith's stay in Cologne in the 1970s and Hamburg in the early 1980s, as well as an introductory essay by film scholar Marc Siegel.

Ethische, rechtliche und ökonomische Herausforderungen, wie z.B. Triage und Allokation, Einschränkung der Grundrechte und -freiheiten und der Schutz von Mitarbeiter:innen bedeuten, dass die Erfahrungen aus der Corona-Pandemie eine Gelegenheit bieten, Wissen für zukünftige Situationen zu generieren. Die durch das SARS-CoV-2 ausgelöste Pandemie stellte das deutsche Gesundheitssystem vor bislang ungekannte Herausforderungen. Während der Pandemie müssen medizinisch Handelnde (insbesondere auch in der Krebsversorgung) wegen aktuell begrenzter Ressourcen Prioritäten setzen. Dies wirkt sich direkt auf klinische Entscheidungs- und Behandlungsprozesse aus und wirft ethische, medizinrechtliche und gesundheitsökonomische Fragen auf.
