Magnolia Graffiti
Von:
Parker, Sean BwIn 2018, at the height of the #MeToo era, artist, musician and writer Sean Bw Parker was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison following allegations made at the Sussex coast music and arts centre he had founded. Magnolia Graffiti, Parker's twelfth book, is a memoir of the contemporary experience of maintaining innocence, prison life, and a critique of the British criminal justice system.
The title refers to Parker's first cell at the notorious Dartmoor Prison, where he spent two and a half years. The cell had been painted dark grey, but graffiti had been scratched into the paint, exposing the words on the magnolia paint beneath.
